Rog’s crouching Jab beats a throw. Where do you come up with this shit? Most normals on a Rog don’t work on his wakeup against Jab since it’s one of the fastest in the game. It’s not as nerfed as you are trying to make it out to be.

You fail to understand the basics of wakeup game. A properly timed throw or normal will beat a wakeup jab 100% of the time. Balrog’s jab has three frames of startup - that’s a window where anything can hit him, and he isn’t hitting anyone. You put a move that can hit him down against that window (incl a throw) and it will win.
Maybe it’s an online thing, because I get beat to the punch anytime I think he’ll turtle and I go in for the throw on wakeup only to be met with a jab combo. I understand the wakeup game fine. To say his jab loses to any rushdown option is ludicrous. To many, sure. To any, no.

Your timing is off. Go to training mode, record on a dummy Rog and mash jab as fast as your can for 10 seconds. Try to keep it consistent.
Now, knock him down as he’s jabbing and try different moves with different timing to see what works and what doesn’t.
A true meaty attack lands your first hitting frame on the first available hitting frame as the opp gets up. There is no way a jab, or any normal, can beat a meaty attack since the fastest start up time for a normal is 3 frames. They got hit 2 frames ago.
Oh yea, the 3rd frame of Rog’s jab actually hits, so it’s more like a 2 frame window to land the meaty attack. So, you can think of the timing to be as strict as the cr.LP, cr.HP link.
If rog wake up with tap, doesn t the otio shoryu will wiff?
I tied this and I remember that TAP was making the jump hp and the shoryu wiff.
also are you sure about the ex straight punsh being punishible by shoryu?
if rog do ex punch, asyoutouch him during jump, there is no mor otion select, so you have to perform another shoryu to cunter as soon as you touch the ground.
however i was never abl to do hit. i ould just protect bu never do a horyu. are yo sur you can?( i m speakng about og straight punch, the faster one, not a slow ex punch lke ovverhead.)
just to make sure you are speaking abut a know down like sweep or throow, then jump Hp option shoryu.
Finally be carefull with option select as safe jump against rog. during first fame of ex punch he can cancel with another ex punch to absorb 2 hit unstead of one.
it s no easy to do but as you do a safe jump it s make the timing easier fo rog in this situation
Dunno about TAP, I would think no though because oh how “wide” the SRK hits, I think it would nix the invincibility… EX Uppercut though, maybe. I’ll have to ask one of like 4 Rog players in my area. Man I hate that guy, more than Sagat… Balrog is joke. You could press cLP, come back to your game like 10mins later and press cLK and it’ll still combo.
Tap defenetly make shoryu wiff.
I already try,you can make it in practice mode, just record ryu doing throw safe jump otion shoryu and you can try all boxeur options.
I just want to correct this - this is not exactly true since most normals have at least 3 active frames.
Let’s balrog wakes up and starts his c.lp on frame 10, and frame 12 is the first frame the jab can hit. I want to do a meaty c.mp (4 active frames, 4 frame startup).
I can start my c.mp on frame 3 - then it will starup for frames 3, 4, and 5, and frames 6-10 will be the active frames.
I can also start my c.mp as late as frame 8 - it will startup for frames 8, 9, and 10, and will be active on frame 11.
Since it has a 4-frame active window, this gives you a 6 frame window in which you can land a successful meaty c.mp - which is plenty.
However, you want to be as early as possible, especially against balrog.
If you start it on frame 3, then you start recovering on frame 11. Let’s say balrog did HP Headbutt - which has 12 (!!!) frames of startup. Your c.mp has 8 frames of recovery, so you’re able to block by frame 19. His headbutt doesn’t hit until frame 22. That’s a punish.
I understand frame data, I know how to read it and how it works. All I was saying is I didn’t think of timing the meaty to hit during any active frames past the first.

if rog do exstraigh punch, yu can only uard, all te othr ex i was able to make a option shoryu or super but sthis ex seem to fast andlet you only guard.
logially if you can guard you can shoryu, so it might be possible, but i rried quiet a lot and was never able. so I think in a real fight it s gona be hard as hell even if it s possible.
also something strange, if i do ex punch cancel ultra( the absorbing one hit then do ultra) it s seem hard to protect, same with super.
you must time very well you safe jump t be ale to guard this . and I repeat doing ex cancel as wake up is easy.
Tap, FA back dash, ex punch, rog is not o bad as wake up(you can also guard…)
sur people that are just using rog to mke some head but into ultra s wake up wil be sad, buthat doesn t mean it free o jump on him.
