There will be plenty of times when the flame kicks will hit at your front. No Viper would ever make all of them hit in the back. That would be really dumb and far too predictable. FA is a good option for them.
Yeah that was my point also. I don’t think any Ryu will ever have Viper totally figured out. She just has so many options and so many ways to get around most fireball characters.

Her footsies aren’t great at all. If you get in close Ryu’s normals will own hers.
While we are at that, st.hk stuffs middistance/close flame kicks and cr.hp beats (or trades) a lot of them, including some (but not all, especially if you do it late) crossup FKs.
viper is kind of low defense super attack character. just like dalshim. if you are fighting someone with very good defense, it very hard because she have some vortex quiet hard to defend.
however if you can touch with one shoryu fadc ultra, and manage to not eat her ultra after it, round is for you…
I just still don t know at wich distance i should fight her.
i think going for cr mk distance or just before is the good one, as from far seimso and flaming kick can hurt ryu more than hado…

-You can juggle into fierce punch super after a lp srk
-Use more fireballs, learn the distance, there’s a topic about it.
-AA jump ins with a grounded fierce dragon punch
-Stop doing random srk
-Stop doing random tatsu -Stop doing random srk
-Stop doing random tatsu
-Stop doing cr.lp > cr.lp > nothing, crank a srk or cr.hp tatsu in there.
-Learn or use srk > exfc > ultra
-Learn to hit confirm
-Lean to punish random specials moves ( e.g headbutt )

if you are fighting someone spaming cr tech throw, ex tatsu, or delayer cr mp are good.
delayed cr mp will give you advantage frame if it s on guard and in counter it will be easy to confirm with sweep or shoryu(FADC ultra depend of distance)

Top players don’t post because they aren’t considerate enough to take the time usually. I can understand a fair amount aren’t meant to be teachers, but the actual amount of posters that do tourneys is slim. Don’t be a guy who gives, then takes it all back over some argument with one guy. Haunts is the only other guy I know who posts as regularly as you. There aren’t enough. Wakeup jab loses to any rushdown option. If I do a meaty attack, FA, throw, crossup, basically ANYTHING, it will beat jab. The only thing jab would beat is if I block, he gets to force me to block a jab and press the advantage.
