No worries though, I hear ep 2 is were the plot kicks into gear - so you may want to watch that too before dropping it.
And just in case people didn’t see it yet, Shana might have another TV series after the OVA, plus Darker than Black 2 has a new main character.

It was mentioned a couple of times but doesn’t appear that many watched it. I watched it and enjoyed it but thought it could have been better. At the very least it remains faithful to the manga so that’s good. Also, it’s not Bullets and Carnage. The OAVs is just the first Dogs manga animated.
Oh no, I’m going to stick with it. I saw some panels from the manga and that seems worthwhile.
But just watching the episode? Nothing. But Higurashi was good, so I’ll keep trusting this guy until I get angry and quit.
The manga is just an adaptation from the original, like the anime is. I think it might be best to play the games themselves, which some have been fan translated, if you want the best experience of the story and whatnot. Unless you don’t bother with VN games much.
Interestingly enough, subs for ep 2 are out now on TT.

Yeah that Bakemonogatari animation is slick. Gives off a Zetsubou Sensei-vibe, but still different.
Try Waterstones, dunno if they ship to the us but they always seem to have it on the shelves whenever I check.

New movie coming out this summer from Production IG. Written by Oshii and Directed by the guy who helped make Sky Crawlers, GITS, and GITS2:Innocence.
I’m happy to see another interesting project come out from IG, but nervous that since Oshii is involved, it’s gonna be another depressing anti-climactic mindfuck that reduces the watcher to a gibbering psychopath banging his head on the walls in a rubber room.

I’m waiting on the other show to be subbed. I read that a previously only manga scanlating group wanted to pick it up, but I’m not sure if they’re still planning to sub it or if they’re slow since they’re moving into the subbing world.

Wow, 2nd ep of Umineko, 1st ep of Spice and Wolf II, 1st ep of Zan Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei all already out.
I read some impressions over at Tenka Seiha for both series. He seems to like GA but Sora not so much, but he seems to be quite different when it comes to anime stuff (plus he’s a bit cynical at times).
Impressions for GA on other corners of the internet seem pretty positive; show looks cute, fun and best of all - has Pani Poni Dash! style energy, so I think I might like this.
Also wow at the Zan Zetsubou ep 1 file size. 372 megs? I understand the resolution and all but damn is that massive.
