Is the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha series good?

1st one was typical magical girl show with some nice beam spam at times.
2nd one was wtfwow at all the really well-done battles and had some AMAZING beam spam.
3rd one was awful with no redeeming traits except that they grew up nicely and Fate has an amazing ass. Like 18 episodes of training and then some massive beamspam to wrap the series up.
So yeah, I’d recommend A’s (you aren’t missing much by skipping to it) if you enjoy giant magic battles and if you like that, watch the 1st series.

Well, do you like/not mind the magical girl genre? You’ll probably enjoy the 1st season and especially the 2nd.
1st seems to be pretty “meh” for a few episodes until Fate shows up. Then it gets a bit better from there.
A’s/2nd just amps up the action and drama and introduces a new “antagonist”, Hayate. The finale was pretty cool looking too.
StrikerS/the 3rd series is an incredibly mixed bag. Introduces so many damn characters without knowing much about them; unless you heard the drama CDs or read the canon manga. Since it was a 26 episode series, stuff got to drag for a little while - but it did have a few good moments. Also, it manages to neglect a few characters pretty horribly - Hayate and Yuuno being the biggest victims.
So, if you don’t mind reading the supplement stuff, you may understand StrikerS a bit more than if you didn’t.
Did you catch on to the fact that in the first half of the episode they were doing all the poses / movements they do in the opening theme?

Anyone watching White Album? I usually don’t like those “all girls like the one guy” shows, but it’s strangely addictive.
Girly things don’t particularly put me off, but I’ve never sat through a magical girl anime. I gave Shugo Chara a chance but after 2-3 eps I saw that it wasn’t going to be my thing.
