Welcome back.
Well, not much. Just praising CANAAN, Umineko and talking about how WTF the Needless ED is.
Haha, sounds like you had fun! Did you meet up with the Ishiwatari/Mori duo? Also, how was the Trigun movie trailer?

Well I may be hyping it up a bit but I was very impressed with the episode, mainly the visuals. I think you’ll like it though so download that shit now:lovin:
Yeah Ishiwatari and Mori’s panel was pretty nice, it was just a long Q&A session but there were some good questions. We got to hear Ishiwatari yell “GUNFLAME!” too
Movie trailer was great just cause we got to see Vash and everyone in action again. Animation is nice. Also it’s basically an alternate telling of the story it seems.
Another note is that apparently a US company actaully approached Nishimura(Trigun TV, and now movie, director) about making a movie. So Nightow was telling us at the panel that it was because of our love for the show/manga that this even happened and expressed his thanks to his fans.
It was so awesome.
Well it isn’t the dustloop, but it’s just as good! I sure hope someone Youtube’d it at least.
Oh, it’s an original story, eh? That’s pretty cool. Hopefully the VAs from the original series are back. Vash won’t be Vash if he wasn’t voiced by Masaya Onosaka or Johnny Young Bosch.
Well, Trigun was one of the first anime series to make a big break in the west, so it’s very understandable. Even the setting itself appeals to that as well.
But yeah, that’s pretty awesome seeing how western fans managed to influence them. Hopefully we’ll get to see more of that in the future.
Canaan definitely has some high production values, but lord fuck 400 megs for one file? Let’s not make this a trend.
FMA 14 and Hayate 14 were good, going to watch Natsu 13 tomorrow.
Just finished Natsu. Although I’m still not sure if this is a show we’ll all remember, for now, it’s great. This is one of those shows where I liked all of the main characters. Okay, I wasn’t too keen on the psycho, but she turned out alright. The overall theme of how the past affects the future was an interesting one and it might be what makes this show stand out. Watching the character interactions in one time develop into the future was entertaining as the pieces fell into place. The last episode was fun in how they talked about time paradoxes. At least, I liked that part…
Ippo #26: I read that they skipped over the coach’s story which made me read the manga. DANG. The coach was a monster back then. When he told Hawk things would be different if he was younger, he wasn’t making an idle threat. I bet they’re saving that story for next season. At least I hope they are since it’s too good to pass up that level of character development. My guess is that there wasn’t enough time this season, so they wanted to bring the show’s focus back to Ippo. It’s a smart choice, yet that shouldn’t come at the cost of the coach’s story.
K-On #11: Yeah, I’m late as heck. Good episode though. Much better than some of the previous ones.
I had to rewatch Canaan. That episode was just too good. I think this is the first time where I’ve rewatched the first episode so quickly. Oh and I also watched the fight in FMA #14 again. Both Canaan and FMA had some short, but insanely cool and sweet moments.
I think they said in the Ippo thread the flashback will be given an OVA.
Seriously. It looks like trend with gg’s releases is to pick up the bigger sized Japanese raws or something. Been trying to look for a smaller sized alternative but no dice, so I had to go with the torrent.
Also, yeah, hopefully the Kamogawa backstory will show up in the next Ippo season.
Edit: Oh, it’s gonna be an OVA? Awesome.
Looks like there’s no point in remembering all these special attack/technique/spell names in Negima. Too damn many, and they’re long, and they mix Japanese with Latin.
That’s great news. I can’t wait for that to come out. Thanks for telling me. I don’t look in the Ippo thread because of all the spoilers.
I don’t mind the large file size on Canaan. However, if they can keep the quality and lower the file size, I’m all for it.
k-onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn rageeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
So that means I just saw 12 and 13. Hey Yui, fuck you.
Also, fuck episode 13. What a damn waste of time that was.
The best thing to happen in K-on was the end credits.
Did K-On at least end with some huge concert?
Finally! I was wondering when you were gonna watch that and go into rage mode.
Not really huge, no. The same as the last one, but with a tiny bit more singing.
just saw canaan, it looks pretty good from what i can tell. FMAB 14 was great also
edit- im probably the only one thats watching it but pandora hearts 14 was neat stuff
phantom 14
[details=Spoiler]elen!!! ein!!! :3!!!
glad to see she made a brief camo, it was a lot sooner than i expected[/details]
That’s disappointing.
Random note, I was just listening to some music when a song from FMA started playing. It hit me right now that one of the things that’s missing from the current season is the great music. There aren’t any memorable tunes in the show itself (not counting the OP or ED).
I mean how many people remember this song from the 1st season:
or this song:
Now try to think up a memorable theme from the current season. I come up with nothing.
Still can’t bring myself to watch even the animes I want to keep up with
I’m gonna try to watch the new shows if I ever get the chance.
Michiru Oshima’s soundtrack for the 1st season was very, very well done. Hard to top that honestly, but the new composer seems to have gave us themes that fit the motif, but not too memorable.
Also, it’s not as strange as the shift of music when comparing Ippo S1 and New Challenger. Tsuneo Imahori’s (Trigun, Gungrave) unique soundtrack brought in some of the best moments with it’s high tension music; so listening to NC’s soundtrack (done by the same chap who gave us the Ouran and Death Note OSTs) with some of it’s orchestral themes was really odd. A few more listens and I’ve grown to like it as it’s own.
Been busy with real life, I’d wager? Or lost interest?
Watched CANAAN today. Me likey. This show holds definite promise this season.
Work, college, and trying to beat a bunch of vidya games.
I still like the animes, but 20 minutes per show is starting to seem like a lot of time to invest. :\
Tomorrow is the start of the show about art class and the show about stargazing club. I have my aim set for those.
I might take a look at Bakemonogatari while I wait… Unless I finally get my SFIV PC in the mail today. :wonder:
Also, the OP for Aoi Hana is so good. Gonna see if I can find the full song.
