WTF happened here? If you read the light novel, there would have been a twist here, and either A) KyoAni got lazy and didn’t show it or B) there’s an unrevealed part 2 to this, but next week is supposed to start The Sighs of Haruhi Suzumiya. Kinda pissed off.
Yeah, GiTS SAC (both seasons) are pretty great. Setting, characters, plot, action - no major complaints when it comes to this. Sure there are a few one shot episodes that has nothing to do with each central plot of each season, but they are good in their own way.
I think it’s probably because they found the antagonist a lot more interesting in season 1 compared to season 2? I’d say the same myself, The Laughing Man case was a lot more riveting than the Individual Eleven one.
I think people enjoyed the Laughing Man story more because it was more like a suspense thriller with lots of twists and turns and multiple things going on at once. There was a bigger sense of a conspiracy theory going on where you were left in the dark a lot. You didn’t know who was the real villain and what was going on till near the end when it all came together.
The Individual Eleven story wasn’t about those kind of intricacies though it did have a lot on their own. It had established a villain (despite their methods of trying to hide it) and was unfolding the story before you. It had it’s fair moments of twists and turns but in the end it was more about making a political message as well focusing on character development. It wasn’t as story driven as the The Laughing Man story and I think that’s what people missed. Personally, I thoroughly enjoyed both seasons equally and love what each season did.
K-On 12:
The animation seemed a bit forced and overdone during the performance and seemed rather unnatural to me. I’m severely disappointed that I didn’t get a “Don’t Say Lazy” performance but I guess a season 2 is possible and you know there will be a season 2 at some point because they can milk this series for a lot more.
It was still a good episode and made Yui more worthwhile than usual. Yui as a child was hilarious and adorable.
Haruhi 12:
It was nice to see a more natural side of the characters but this was really a throwaway episode that didn’t even have that bit of rhyme or reason to what Haruhi usually does. I mean, even the baseball episode had something to it but this episode was just something you would get from a regular shojou anime.
Higashi 11:
Yeah…I wasn’t expecting the series to end on a really good note and it was really open ended. Good enough as a closer to the series before the 2 movies. I’m really irked they opted the movie path when they could have down this in 26 episodes. The movies will probably be amazing but the wait before each one is going to kill me.
Ippo 24:
Goddamn was I happy with how that fight ended. I was waiting for that moment and the build up to it was incredibly intense. Kind of disappointed that Ippo himself didn’t get a good match in this season.
DominoLogic:
Stick with Darker than Black because it is a pretty good series though falls flat a bit towards the end. The story is well done and there’s a 2nd season in the works but don’t worry about the ending as it does properly end the series.
I was mentioning the character, not the series, actually.
Eden 11 was a fairly nice conclusion to the series, for now.
EoE 11
Spoiler
We pretty much understand Akira’s origin and how he gets to save Japan - twice. Alongside that we get a lot more naked zombies…err NEETS and even the rest of the males of the Eden group get naked to infiltrate the mass of angry nerds. They were even called “Johnnies” by Akira when he first addressed his statement to them again. It was nice seeing Panties/Itazu alive, too.
His last request to Juiz pretty much leads up to the title of the 1st movie “King of Eden”. I’m sure the other Selecao will be after him and we’ll probably see the real Juiz again and possibly even Mr.Outside showing up, despite the odds.
It’s going to be one hell of a long wait, that’s for sure.
