Man, I ended up hating CG with a passion by the time it was over.

OMG LIEK ME 2!!!

MY CHARAS ARE A NINJA, A SCIENTIST, A ROBOT AND A CLOWN! LOL AND I HAVVE NEKOMIMIMI cuz IM CA-RAY-ZAY lollololol

I’ve only posted in here 3 or 4 times I think. But I’m reading it now.

Awesome. I’d rep you if I could. Also:

OMGZ ILNALTO!!!11111ONE SASUNATU IZ MI FAV SHIP EVAR~1 HET IZ TEH GHEYZ OLOLOLOLOL

I lol @ how Hayate has turned into harem dating sim mode.

So I wasn’t the only one who though Geass S2 was weaker than the 1st. A lot of people told me that shit has hit the fan/jumped the shark right from Season 1 after

CG S1

Spoiler

Euphie got Geass’d and became the Euphinator. I frankly found it pretty hilarious, awesome and desperate all at the same time.

I used to name the show “Code Gee, ass!” thanks to the gratuitous posterior shots provided by C.C frequently.

And for Kromo & KMD: Can’t believe you forget the mangling of the Japanese language when it comes to your anime love. You are not true otaku!

[details=Spoiler]So this is the fated episode where Hughes dies and I don’t think it did as good of a job as delivering the emotional impact as the first season. It still was heart breaking to see Hughes daughter mourn over her father’s death with that innocence of hers but the issue is that in order to cover more ground that had to carry on with the story. It doesn’t let the impact sink in unlike the first anime that played that scene while rolling the ending credits.

Overall, still a good episode but it’s still a matter of waiting until we reach the new material which isn’t happening for a while. Kind of wondering if they are making good ground so far. Just don’t know how much story they’ll be able to cover in the span of 50+ episodes without pushing things.[/details]

On a separate note I’m just blown away with the One Piece anime lately. They have been doing one hell of a job animating the recent story arc and capturing the tension of the situation and I’m liking it better than when the manga told it simply because you need to see some scenes animated.

Anyone here have a Twitter account? I just made one. /shootmyself

I had “nekomimimi”, although I really should have worked in a kawaii desu or two…and like a dozen butterfly/angel animated gifs…maybe some bishies with sparkles around them.

I thought the Euphanator was the best part of CG. I wished lulu would just go door to door doing that to everybody.
I just hated how nobody could stay dead for like more than 5 minutes…and the chess scene. THAT DAMN CHESS SCENE, just thinking about it makes me mad. Way to cram your show with chess metaphors and show your brilliant tacticians don’t actually know how to play the game.
Now that I think about it, everything would have been forgiven if they just went ahead and made suzaku and lulu girls, I mean, they already look the part. Plus it would have equaled like 400% more yuri when we factor in Karen and CC. Whats his face sidekick guy could remain a guy because he doesn’t get any, because he is unimportant and unmemorable.

The existence of those types of characters are probably the most terrifying part of imagining living in an anime world. Its like Sysiphous or that guy who can’t drink the water beneath him or eat the fruit above him…If you go after girls you are a pervert and they just just run terrified to Mr. Short hair No personality, if you let him take the center stage they throw themselves at him and will do just about anything for his babies. Even if there is a girl set aside for you, she’ll be homely and unimportant too, and she’ll still be more interested Mr no personality, but knows she’ll never be chosen because there are like 9 other prettier girls who have known him since childhood and have breasts larger than her head (which is small and unshapely).

Karen? You mean Kallen. And Code Geass would have had 9500% more fanservice if Lulu/Suzaku were girls. Hell, I’m not even sure if the series would even have the plot it had if that were the case. Might as well be a sequel to Godannar, but with 50% less tits, if those were the circumstances.

If I recall correctly, a lot of critics and analytical anime fans seem to dislike the second season of Code Geass, if not more than the first. There was too much confusion; even the ending, as good of an attempt it makes to justify Lelouch’s Kouji Seo Syndrome, left a hell of a lot of questions, though I personally watched that last episode for Nunnally bondage, Villetta in a kimono and ZOMG Tianzi. Of course, there are always the fanboys/fangirls (believe me, when you go to a place as crappy as BasilMarket every now and then and ask them what they think is the best anime ever, you’ll get a lot of this and a lot of mainstream not from Gainax) who can’t see quality if they bludgeoned in the face with it for three hours and will believe this is the best series ever. Hell, for all I know, the people on BasilMarket who don’t know how to watch a sub are still probably crying over how epic the ending was and how it brought a fitting end to an epic series. Pfft.

Code Geass was good but not great, kinda like how My-HIME was good but not great. Now that I think about it, those two seem to share a lot of similarities…

Yeah, that’s more like it! Get that weaboo-ism in full force!

I didn’t like the chess scenes, either. If they wanted to give us something epic which shows their hardcore skills, they could’ve done the same as the potato chip eating scene in Death Note.

…Yep, it does seem you’re deadset on wanting anime to be rid of male characters forever.

As for the sidekick guy, you reffering to Rivalz?

 Man, you just wiped him off the map with that description.

Curious on what you think of Orange-kun’s amazing impact as a character and plot.

Can’t believe you missed that one!

Never heard of the place. I’m guessing they love Sasuke-kun to bits as well.

Nope.

so…when does the next season start? july? im waiting…

I didn’t miss that one. As much as I loved the irony, I remembered my friends were talking about it when they first watched the subs, so watching it myself didn’t hit me as hard. Anya on the farm was a bit more surprising to me.

As for BasilMarket… pay no mind. It’s a MapleStory forum that I went to (I say went because I haven’t really been there lately) for auctioning and crap like that. The anime fans there bandwagon practically everything rated T+ (not much rated MA, considering MS’s predominant demographic is around the high school range) released stateside since 2001-02.

Seriously, whenever anyone decided to start up a “best anime” thread, I always had to come in and throw in Cowboy Bebop and FLCL and GitS and the like in order to stop the “ZOMG Naruto-One Piece-Bleach-Death Note-FMA-Code Geass>>>all” flood of responses. I think they only started liking Gurren Lagann recently (which is funny, because they practically started doing so on Syfy’s second running of the series), but I noticed an increase in their numbers when I last bothered checking. There are also others who like other things (I remembered seeing Toradora a couple of times, and 5 cm/s), but they’re few and far between.

Also, I don’t really give that much of a damn about Naruto, but I do believe Basil’s Naruto fanatics are still gay/straight for Sasuke, which fits in well considering the demographic.

I just found it really funny how people got owned by the same tactic over and over again in Code Geass and had like the most hilarious reactions.

[details=Spoiler]No bigfoot action this epd. :frowning:

We get more into Dan’s head. Mindless running I get but the whole tiger/horse idea felt unnecessary when they could of used bigfoots or something. I personally think Rogue would of school’d him even if he wasn’t hallucinating over Coco, and that’s just kinda pathetic to say at least lol.

Ah well, at least he hit a jumper [/details]

Lunar: Sounds like my kinda place to avoid when it comes to anime.

It’s like the anime equivalent of a Hanna Barbera cartoon. Just with bigger eyes, chests and pizza instead of Scooby Snacks or pic-a-nic baskets.

I don’t drop anything I’m watching. Not out of principle; I’ve just never seen a reason to. And yes, it was AWFUL. It took me almost 15 months to get through the first 11 episodes, but after that, I finished the rest of the series (both seasons) in two days.

Nah, Mai-Hime is kinda different… First half is generic crap (but with some fanservice, so it’s ok), second half after they’re ordered to kill each other is GDLK.
So the average is “good but not great”, because it’s so unbalanced.

Shizuru!

The tiger/horse deal was a play on words since tiger is tora in japanese and horse is uma so torauma=trauma.[/details]

Haha, I didn’t catch that, but yeah makes sense.

Still, weird episode. Dan was not cool at all hahah
