Domino, I have the same issues with K-ON that you do. Iâm a fan of music stuff, so when I see it in anime (like Beck), my interest sparks. Except K-ON isnât a music show at all, itâs just a moe-exploitation show using music as an excuse to throw the moe characters into moe situations.
I mean, letâs be honest now: how many more times do we have to see Yui act stupidly cute? Or Mio be terrified by something normal? Or have that lesbo girl giggling/fascinated/intrigued every time she sees girls arguing/playing/fighting? They put the characters through the same exact paces in EVERY DAMN EPISODE. No character development. No plot progression. Just. . .moe. Thatâs all K-ON is.
Not to say that K-ON is a lost cause. The music in episode 8 with Mio singing was surprisingly good. The transition halfway through the episode is damn epicâcome on, old school cassette tapes with a hot guitar riff? Awesome. But thatâs where my interest with K-ON ends. I keep on watching, hoping that something music related and awesome will happen. And nearly every episode, Iâm disappointed.
im loving ippo NC! bryan hawk is unstoppable. i love it! waiting for sendo to make his return. i like Ricardo Martinez also. date was so helpless:rofl:
yeah, that guy is a total prick now that heâs actually alive. heâs not even a NEET like the rest of the group so wtf is his deal? heâs got his pride and a job to go to but then he goes around prying about Takizawaâs place - I hope he gets a gruesome death or atleast a complete humiliation. next episode of Eden looks like itâs gonna full of juicy details.
Ouch, thatâs pretty harsh. Iâm not expecting him to have a happy ending, either way. Because Saki already left him behind in terms of love interest.
asura cryin 8 sighâŚi thought i missed an epd watching this. completely clueless for a good 10 mins of it :o
Watched Keion 9.
Yeah so, that shit was pretty frustrating. I never really thought Keion was a music show to begin with, but, seriously, fuck that shit. I mean, can characters be so boring that all they have is one hackneyed aspect about them? Well, apparently they do. Fuck. At least Mio showed some character in the damn episode, but, the rest was pretty wack. I did laugh at times, so I guess this episode did something right.
Letâs play MUSIC
NAHH MOTHERFUCKER THIS SHOW BOUT CAKE
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFf
Well, at least there was somebody who could actually play music that finally got onto the show. In a show about frigginâ music, it only took 9 EPISODES TO GET THERE. But they finally got there.
I dunno, I still find myself smiling while I watch K-On, even in ep 9
everybody can play music. Mugi is a classically trained, competition-ready pianist, remember? They just donât.
Yeah, they can all play (save for Yui) and they still donât play. Dumb.
Theyâre happy killing gags and the moe train.
I think the main problem with K-On is that theyâre trying to add serious parts in the story when the 4koma itâs based on is basically just like every other gag 4koma out there. Makes everyone seem worse, especially with stuff like Azusa getting so worked up over it, when it wasnât really a huge deal in the end. In the comic anyway.
I saw ep. 9 and didnât think it was that bad. Why is everyone acting like this is a new thing to the show? They hardly ever play and then pop up with a concert quality performance. Looks like this next episode is another âcampâ so theyâll play another show soon Iâm guessing.
Dude. Cake is serious business. Especially yellow cake. Pray to God you donât drop that shit.
mugi does make the best faces, though. What a space cadet.
I donât know which is funnier to me: the half-assed insertion of Azusa in the intro, or the non-insertion into the ED.
The fact they left her out of the ED is pretty funny. Funnier to me then the intro.
Oh yes I just picked up valkyria chronicles at best buy for $20. Best part is my mom had a rewards card coupon for $35 so I got the game for free:bgrin: time to get that shit poppin.
You guys still talking about K-ON 9? Serious business indeed.
Hit the nail on the head.
I mean, look at Sketchbook - Full Colors, for example. The manga is apparently 100% gag manga, yet the guys at Hal Film Maker managed to inject a few simpler slice-of-life like moments that arenât full of comedy and which arenât serious at the same time.
Also, remember the episode where they introduced Kate aka one of the best female gaijin characters in anime? They didnât go overboard with with the characters and made Kate fit in with the cast with her own comedic shtick - speaking horrible Japanese. By the end of the episode we get to see a glimpse of her character and how everyone welcomed her with open arms, without any mistreatment or ignorance like the K-ON club did with Asuza.
The new Avatar is ace bro
Yeah, apparently that shit is orgasmic.
Also, Phantom 9.
Phantom
Spoiler
Yo, they better actually find Eren (Ein) real name. Better not pull some CC shit.
