Everyone is probably going to tell you Gundam Wing and G Gundam (and there’s nothing wrong with that lol), but my personal favs were 08th M.S. Team (side story) and Gundam ZZ (old school). I love the first opening of ZZ – “Anime janai, honto no koto sa!!” Seed and Destiny had some cool Gundam designs, but I wasn’t a fan of the writing or the story per-se.
In case you guys might be wondering, yup, another Haruhi repeat. Oh and KyoAni is charging 6930 yen or $72 for the Japanese DVDs which include 2 episodes per disc. Whoever buys 4 discs of Endless Eight is a moron.
…What the? Not only is it a repeat, but they’d expect someone in his right mind to buy a repeat episode twice on DVD at that price? That’s silly.
Start from Episode 1! 4 is great but probably not the best of the episodes thus far.
I’d add Gundam 00 with Wing and G.

Ummm no, not many in here will be saying Gundam Wing.
First thing to note SquidGuts, is that there’s two kinds of Gundam shows, seperated by the official on-going timeline, Universal Century(UC for short), and the various unrelated-to-each-other alternate universes(AU’s for short). Generally they heavy gundam fans are fans of only one catagory as they are very different in tone. Normally UC is very “real”, is about some kind of war, has many tragedies, and is more space opera-ish. AU’s can vary, some are actually like a UC, some are different, like the super robot style G Gundam.
The absolute essential Gundam to me is Mobile Suit Gundam(the really old, and first one) and Char’s Counterattack(a movie)
However, 08th MS team(UC), Z Gundam(UC, though I didn’t like it too much it’s one of hte most popuylar UC ones), V Gundam(UC, personal fav, yet not very popular), G Gundam(AU) are all good as well.
UC Gundam series are essential imo, but if your really interested I’ll open the floodgates for ya because mecha anime is pratically all I watch :tup:

i dont think they should have revealed the whole magic thing this early. part of the appeal of this show is trying to figure out whats going on and having the overall story be revealed bit by bit. i mean now we know that beatrice is going to keep doing resets until battler gives in and bern-whateverthefuck will interfere for lulz which gives the human characters a chance to get out of ENDLESS EIGHT if they do everything right. we’ll get to watch the same events play out differently, except we dont have to guess who is batshit crazy anymore because we know its just beatrice fucking with our heroes. in my mind this way is less “fun” than not knowing.
the story isn’t bad, but i could have done with some more mindfucking (lol) before learning that “oh hey the reason all this is happening is really magic, not just the resets but everything else, and its all to entertain RACHEL ALUCARD i mean a magical tea drinking loli”.
i like the show so i hope they are going somewhere with this. there better still be some mysterious shit instead of just MAGIC LAWLS
Patlabor or FMP?
I love Real Robot shows, but I still prefer Supers.
I haven’t seen the TV show of patlabor, but I did love the movies, I’ve been meaning to watch the series. I’ve only seen the first and TSR of FMP, but I’ve seen the same material that was in fumoffu in the manga, so no need to watch it.

I love both sides equally so I can’t choose :bgrin:, whether it be Gundam, FMP, Macross, Vandread, Voltes V, Daitarn 3, Mazinger Z, GaoGaiGar, GodSigma, Dancouga, Gunbuster, Kotetsu Jeeg, Getter Robo, Votoms, the list goes on for quite a while 
Finished East of Eden…last episode didn’t make a huge amount of sense to me…actually in retrospect a lot of things didn’t really make sense so I’ll let it slide.

I wish there were more After War Gundam X fans. It was a damn good show… and even though the production team got the episode number axed down to 39, they still came up with a good finale and overall epilogue. Geez, I just wish Fukawa and the Seed team would have taken a few notes from this series…
I actually started watching Gundam X but that’s mainly because I’m playing Super Robot Wars Z atm and need some insight lol…
