The Android thread. Questions, comments, help, etc

I rooted mine with the quickness. U can do it in no time, too. Stock tho, I was getting crazy good battery time. Now, I have forgot to charge my phone, and spent a 12 hour shift with 30% power, and listened to tunes and posted on SRK sporadically, and still had battery when I got home

I never have battery issues, just tons of shit taking up space. I never have the chance to do it these days, and when I do… I forget. Funny I have an emulator rooted before my own device.

OH…MY…GAWD!

the HP Stream 7 is actually a full pc in your hand!
The HP Stream 7 tablet runs the full version of Microsoft Windows 8.1! it does NOT use WinRT.
Holy shi…I am hyped for this. I need to get this.
it only has 1gb of ram and doesn’t run 64x bit Windows. only 32xbit. But still…its an actual pc on tablet. No difference. gives you full administrative powers right out the box. No need to root or anything. Installs all/any program your pc can.
and its only 99 bucks too!!! wut! yo…I’m getting this.
next month. I’m broke right now haha!

Windows 8.1 tablets have been out for over a year now. There are many that come with a keyboard too. I currently own a Asus Transformer Book T100 and it’s pretty good for the price. It came with Office 2013, but I think newer windows tablets come with the lame Office 365. Also, the windows store is a piece of shit so I use it in desktop mode with the keyboard like 95% of the time. There’s not even a youtube app for tablet mode, like wtf. So really, I should have just got a laptop.

At 1gb of ram idk what you plan to be using in desktop mode, especially with a small screen too.

I just love it cuz its an actual pc in my pocket.
and that its touchscreen and not keyboard as its interface.
I really don’t know what I will do with it with only 1gb of RAM but I will assume I may be able to install steam on it and play at least a few of my 1gb ram games in my steam library. like Dust and Ys origin. I just need to dl a virtual joystick app.

but to me, its greatest selling point is that I don’t need to root this bitch.
that full administrator’s control is huge for me. And yeah, windows store sucks but idc cuz i’ll be using other programs anyhow.

besides I can just use ANDY which is an android emulator for pc which can emulate android and I can download any app from the google play store to run on the tablet. Though I’ve tried it on my laptop and like all emus its slow and laggy. but works.

Soooooooooooooooooooo…
I just did either the coolest thing in this world or I just did the geekiest thing in this world.

I customized the detach/attach sounds on my Galaxy Note’s S pen from its meh stock sounds to be…
you guessed it.
The ignition and deactivation sound effects of a lightsaber.
detach S pen=sound of lightsaber activation
attach S pen=sound of lightsaber deactivation
sounds soooo badass.

I’m an evil genius.

^ lol

I have all kinds of metal gear sound going here with a custom theme made for “launcher 8” theme.

Anyone else receive an update? Note 4.

Yota Phone 2 for £555.00? pass that shit holmes.

that asus zenfone2 http://www.asus.com/Phones/ZenFone_2_ZE551ML/ looks like lg g3 and cost 1/ looks like lg g3 and specs are pretty good too. for 1/3 of the $.

Guys, I don’t have a usb port problem, but I’ve gotta know: why does it take so long to transfer, say a 35mb file from my pc to my old Droid x2 like 9 seconds, and 8 or more minutes to do the same to my LG Volt?

weaker processor (curious to see how many cores the asus has), less high def screen, weaker speakers, oddly enough more ram.

It’s still actually a REALLY good option for a phone, damn!

Chainfire has a new app that’s goooooooooooooooooooodlike.
Mobile Odin pro.

now you don’t need to connect your device to a pc to flash firmware onto it.

remember when I had to flash the twrp recovery onto my mom’s Samsung Galaxy light?
and the 20 step process which involved putting the phone into download mode, connecting to pc, removing the battery, downloading odin, clockworkmod, and twrp?

well with this u just download the twrp for your device model using your phone/tablet itself along with the clockworkmod tar…that’s it. just enter the app, choose the twrp as the recovery file, and flash it. no need to go into download mode or usb to the pc.

what once took 20 complex steps now is like 3 steps max. 2 seconds.

I needed to twrp my galaxy note tablet cuz I felt until it had it it wasn’t safe from bricking.
twrp’ed it and made the system recovery back up…so now its truly safe from the dreadful stuck in bootloop possibility.

I feel so relieved.

I bought the LG Volt for my girl. I was really impressed by its 3000 mah battery.
I’ve ben thinking about buying it or something with a 3000mah battery cuz my old ass LG motion…great as it is, its 1800 battery sucks ass. I’m constantly having to charge that bitch and I’m sick of it.

hows the phone treating you?

and I doubt its a usb problem causing the slow uploading of files. its prob just the more modern os’s script. kitkat being kitkat.

Trying to get a new/refurbished Galaxy S5 unlocked for under $300 but shit is unpossible.

http://samsungrumors.net/unlock-galaxy-s5-free/ ???

there are a lot of one button root Apps for android, if that’s what you’re attempting to do.

It’s an awesome phone. Battery life is great, charges fast as hell, screen is sweet, fast, responsive…this will be my phone for at least the next 5 years.

well nigga they gotta cut some corners here and there. but Id prefer a 1080p screen + better battery life over the useless qhd screen on the g3.

I am gonna get that asus phone for my brother.

that screen looks beautiful and you know it.

Battery life is identical, as they’re the same type of battery. A lot of the other features are impressive too. Does this other phone have voice activated or gesture activated picture taking? That shit’s been mighty useful for me. Can you run multiple apps on one screen like the G3? Smart Keyboard on the G3 is one of the best ones I’ve used.
