I manually manage any music I add to the device, comes up as a drive once connected to the computer via USB like any external HD would.

Install drivers for your device if needed.

Can anybody recommend a good app for USB tethering and potentially creating a wi-fi hotspot? There’s like a million of them out there.

If it’s full albums, I use USB. If it’s just a song or two, I send them through the Pushbullet app.

I used to rock the 1-Click WiFi Tether No Root on my Nexus, always performed well. Free version means you must manually set security but that only takes a second.

^ I have data(simple mobile) when I try to change settings from my galaxy S3 it days something like “I need to upgrade the plan” or some BS. halp??

gonna try the app above later on

Back when I was on Verizon and had just gotten my Galaxy Nexus (stock), when I tried to enable wireless tethering I got prompted for a $20 charge.

Installed 1-Click Tether and it disabled the request, good to go.

Yeah, so I had to do the update, and now Chrome replaces the LAST letter in the url bar.

For example, if I’m at Google, then try to go to yahoo, when I SHOULD be able to type “Y” and get “yahoo.com” to auto pop-up, highlighting only the first “y” as usual, it now ADDS a “Y” to the end of the url. I type the “Y” and it puts in “yahoo.coy

This is highly annoying because I cant use one touch to get my sites as it is. A reset, a reinstall, a desktop sync, nothing has helped. Im ready to toss this phone.

WHY do these motherfuckers ALWAYS have to break shit that fucking works right?

MWC today.

Fuuuuck I want that Xperia Z2 right now! Finally another phone that decides to put dual speakers on the front of the phone. There better be a US release date soon…

I’m looking at the Sky Vega Racer No. 6 right now. Definitely needing to upgrade. Messed around with my friend’s while I was in Korea, feels nice.

If I don’t get that, I may gasp jump to an iPhone.

This LG Optimus 3D is pissing me off something fierce. I know, it’s legacy, but it’s making normal tasks that are built into the phone, not updateable or installed by apps, look like something impossible to do.

So far:

-Turning on my phone works 2/3 of the time. I sometimes have to pull my battery because the phone hangs 5 minutes on the boot splash.

-Making phone calls (You know, a basic function of a phone), only works half the time. When it doesn’t work, I have to press the call button 50,000,423 times, curse at it, threaten to replace it with a feature phone, reboot it, pull its battery when it hangs at the boot splash, turn it on again, then press the call button 20 more times before it will make a call.

-Typing only works 40% of the time. Then inexplicably, sometimes even mid-message, the keyboard will stop sending inputs. There is no rhyme or reason to when it does it. Sometimes, even the fix of killing the app it does it in, then turning off the screen and turning it back on doesn’t fix it. I’ve also tried the standard LG keyboard, the Google IMEs, and SwiftKey with the same results. There is just something in the firmware that randomly blocks me from sending out input when I type.

-20% of the time, media scans do not complete. That renders some of the functionality on my phone useless because I will just get messages saying “You must wait until media scan is complete.”

Yeah, so this phone… I almost wanted a G2, but am wary that if any of these issues exist on that phone, I would kick myself for buying LG again.

The quality phones that Sky is putting out seem good. But if there’s too much instability, I should just as well hit up iPhone where things will just work without a whole lot of frustration.

Samsung S5 - http://www.theverge.com/2014/2/24/5441668/samsung-galaxy-s5-announcement-launch

Sony Xperia Z2 - http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/products/phones/xperia-z2/

Was looking to forward to upgrading my S3 to S5 but the Z2 is looking to be my choice with its premium look. If you already have a S4 its like the equivalent of going from iphone 5 to 5s nothing really stands out.

Z2 is such a nicer prospect, it seems all of the good rumors for the S5 turned out to be false.

haha S5 is ass. its the same thing again. WHOLE point one inch screen size lol…

and no other major design changes. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

The only selling points I see for the S5 is that it’s waterproof and it has a fingerprint scanner.

The heart rate scanner could’ve been done already with the flash based camera and a 3rd party app.

The more I play Soul Calibur on android the more and more I’m loving it.
Been pondering if I should get KoF 97 on the play store or not.

Tried to delete stock Gallery app but doesn’t seem possible. System app and even after removing the app file from the Android data folder still didn’t disappear.
man I hate that app.
I just wanna stick with QuickPic which gives me more album preferences but dat Gallery stock app is imperishable.
Shit just won’t die.

I’m after some advice with regards to purchasing an android phone. Currently I have a lumia 920 which is good but I don’t feel like MS are pushing it enough and my other main gripe is that there’s not enough customisation. The thing I loved about my iphone was jail breaking. So I want to get an android phone for custom roms, rooting etc. I just don’t known what to get? Either wait for the S5, HTC M8 or buy the note 3? Though I don’t really want a phone that big. Any other suggestions welcome, Cheers guys.

1, a rooted iphone is what you have when u get a non rooted android.
rooted android is far superior to a rooted iphone when it comes to user options.
2,if you only want an android for root reasons like custom roms and such,…in other words user options,…if you live in Europe why not just get the Jolla sailfish os from Nokia Europe that has true 100% open source os.
so you don’t have to root it anyway and still gives u full admin powers.

PDANET+ is really good for making your phone a wifi hotspot. its just one click setup thats it. free version needs a restart every few hours or something. you can always buy or “obtain” the full version(if yo ass is broke)

Yo anyone here mess around with Themer app yet? It’s a very customizable launcher. You can do soooo much shit and it’s very streamline.

who’s your cell phone provider? if its verizon i think you’re fucked. they’re locked bootloaders are no joke. i know att is locking bootloaders as well but i think theres are easier to get by. tmobile doesn’t lock shit so it’s easy to flash new roms on my note 3.

i loved my note 2 and love my note 3 even more. right now i don’t think there’s another phone/line that could tear me away. the size of it has never been an issue for me. do you talk on the phone A LOT? if not. then size shouldn’t be a deterrent. even if you did you could just use a bluetooth headset. i’ve never had an issue putting it in my pocket or anything like that. if you mainly use it for web browsing and stuff like that like me then it’s the best phone out there.

if i had to pick a different phone i’d probably get the nexus 5 because it’s cheap with a top of the line processor. i don’t know how big the dev community is for sony phones so that might be an issue. specs on the z2 look good but i’m not sure how big the dev community is for sony.

the dual screen yotaphone looks so awesome. that is true innovation right there. i’d get a tablet with dual screens in a heartbeat.

Here’s a review on it: http://www.extremetech.com/extreme/177355-yotaphone-2-hands-on-no-dual-oled-and-e-ink-displays-on-a-smartphone-is-not-as-awesome-as-it-sounds

It sounds a little bit harsh, but is at least encouraging of their attempts at working on this technology. It’s definitely something that I had never even though of being useful on a phone, but it’s a very clever design concept. If they can get this technology up to snuff, I’d consider a purchase.

Nice to see a company outside of Korea/China/Japan/America innovating in the smartphone industry.
