You get rid of the stock apps by rooting. There’s little white like being able to delete the stupid bookmarks from your browser ie twitter Facebook can etc. You can change the wallpaper on your lockscreen.
Rooting does technically void your warranty but i think it’s pretty hard to brick your phone nowadays. It’s not something II’m even remotely worried about. Maybe just make sure you don’t have any dead pixels or something before you root.
If you’re on att or Verizon you’re sorta screwed as far as custom roms go because their bootloades are still locked pretty good. I don’t suppose you got the developer edition. Gs4 because most people wouldn’t know to get it. I think the most you can do right now on att and Verizon is root and remov the stock apps. Tmobile phones have unlocked bootloaders so you can root and flash roms right away.
before you delete apps after rooting…make sure you find the established list of bloatware apps you cant delete…it can cause half bricking or full bricking.
its better to just freeze all your bloatware apps which keeps your phone safe from half bricking or bricking, and gather them up into one folder and just take it off all the icons from your screen. you wont mind seeing 20 apps in one folder. its not distracting. just don’t delete anything after rooting unless you’re 100% sure it wont negatively affect the performance of your phone.
I should let you know some ROMs and Launchers after rooting has caused crashes and other problems with post rooted phones. make sure you don’t use a rom or launchers that’s a no no for your particular phone.
you should read about how to unbrick your phone before doing anything. in case shit goes wrong.
rooting and getting supersu = something like administrative powers on your pc.
those are the perks. you can do things you couldn’t do otherwise. like the way I did with my phone’s memory storage problems.
now I can launch apps from my sd card. shit was impossible before rooting.
as for some post root apps…
Titanium back up is a must.
Adblocker is nice
and GL to SD or Directory Bind
I have a problem I was hoping some of you experienced. It’s vexing the hell out of me.
It seems that no matter what I do, my Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 will, at some point, do some goofy things with my music, leading to a “Damaged SD Card” message. Goofy things include taking the tags off (so it reads “unknown artist” in PowerAmp), moving it to the Lost.Dir folder, or outright deleting it.
I must have formatted this thing about 4 times across two cards. I’ve tried both the player’s formatting and Windows’ formatting. The same thing happens. Player’s fine for a while (maybe a week, maybe a month or two). Then the goofy shit with music, and eventually the message. The thing is, if I turn the player off and then on, the message disappears and I can still play the music that’s there just fine. If I plug my SGP into windows, I can see the files that are still there just fine. Also, this problem ONLY hits my music. My videos and E-books are are never touched. However, a format erases everything. Everything comes from my PC to start with, so this is really only an issue of time. However, this seems like a basic problem I shouldn’t have to deal with. Does anyone have a clue why this keeps happening? I thought it was because my player will sometimes die after a while with no charge, and that’s bad for SD memory (that happened the last few re-formats). This latest case of the Damaged message proves me wrong though. I kept it charged up as much as I could. Could there be some setting in PowerAmp that’s doing this?
what’s the deal with buying the note for the 4k video when you’re paying a crapload for those spec tvs? I never understood that.
not surprised at Google taking out the external stats out of the “LG G2” Nexus 5. I do like the stabilization, but on an 8MP camera? Still, I’d like to see what it can do.
1-go to supersu and make sure you make supersu saved as part of system settings. its still not part of your note’s system until you do.
2-don’t delete any unwanted bloatware from factory apps until you are 100% sure it wont brick, slow down, or half brick your device.
3-download titanium back up and back up all the important apps, especially system apps.
4-some roms and custom launchers can brick a device, depending on the device. make sure you don’t use the one that screws up your note.
I like to use screen/back protectors on my phones… but definitely not a case. There’s a reason they design phones so beautifully. How are you going to cover it up with some shitty plastic?
I SMH at people who bought the 5c AND a case for it. The hell is the point of it being colored then?!!?!?
If I was using a phone with questionable build quality I’d at least get some slim plastic case for it, but the HTC One is built so damn well that I genuinely don’t worry about it. I should probably get a screen protector sometime soon, but after seeing people do so many scratch and impact tests on it I’m not stressing it. And yeah a case would take away from how gdlk it is, they did a great job with the aluminum body
gonna pick up the note 3 this week. what color did u guys get? i love the look of white phones but that back seems like it would get dirty and fucked up easily, so i might go with the black.
