Actually, it’s $200 down for the Note 3 with T-Mobile, and then $21/month for 24 months. $704 total. I could sell my GN2 for $400, so I have to decide if the upgrades are worth the $304 I would have to pay, as I don’t want the $21/month added to my bill.

The monthly payments are interest free so might as well take advantage of it. You can pay it off early whenever you so an extra 21 bucks a month could look better than 400 up front.

who else got the note 3? shit is pretty slick. i really like the faux leather back in black. the white color apparently feels plasticky or some shit. it reminds me of the back of the nexus 7 which i also really like the feel of. i’ve always felt that phones never needed to feel “premium” since most people put cases on their phones any fucking way. had this case for my note 2 and it was fine.

the phone is fast i guess. can’t really tell too much of a difference in real world shit even though benchmarks put it 4 times faster than the note 2. stupid samsung cheating at benchmarks again lol.
screen is sharp and REALLY bright . it seems like 50-60% of the slider on the note 3 equates to 100% brightness on my note 2.
having a stock phone made me realize how important rooting my phone is. stupid samsung/tmobile won’t even let you delete the preloaded bookmarks from the stock browser!. i fucked up pretty good during a flash and accidentally wiped my system though. was a pain in the ass getting everything back because i wasn’t really sure what i was doing.
speaker volume complaint i’ve been reading about is a bit overblown imo. no it isn’t as loud as the note 2 but it’s not worthless either. anyways there’s already mods and roms out that increase the volume. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2469463
being able to use the s pen on the capacitive buttons is alone almost worth the price. i use the pen all the time now.
all in all i’m pretty happy with the note 3. it’s slimmer, lighter, with a bigger screen. what’s not to love?

the pen on the note 3 is pretty awesome. g2 looks like a solid phone though. if you have the money I would get the note 3, otherwisei highly recommend skipping the g2 and wait a few weeks for the nexus 5. that shit is going to be the definitive android device IMO.
till the end of the year the only 2 android phones that anyone should consider are the note 3 and nexus 5.

Went with the Note, I’m loving that big, beautiful screen. The Nexus 5 would have been my choice if it had a slot for an sdcard, but somehow Google forgets that they exist.

Just got a Note 3.morph help me root this shit
Hold off on rooting it for just a bit. In the bootloader there are markers letting Samsung know what’s been modified on a device. You can wipe all the markers yourself making it look like it’s never been rooted except for the Knox security line, if you root a Note 3 it shows as modified and the warranty is void. Yesterday someone apparently found a way to modify an AT&T Note 3 without tripping the Knox marker, we’re waiting to see if it can be done on other carriers.
If you don’t care about the warranty, head over to XDA and search for the Note 3 on your carrier.

its a 100 dollar phone. if it fucks up and bricks I can buy another one without it affecting my wallet.
I just don’t want to brick it coz if I can avoid it i’ll be happy. no one wants to go through more effort trying to unbrick or buy another one.
i want to root so i can be able to save games onto the external sd card and more importantly…launch the game from the sd card coz i found the ES file manager which is the only file manger that can move apps from the lg motion internal storage memory to an external sd card.
problem is that the es file manger doesn’t keep the game there.
if i boot up the game from the sd card th phone will move the game back onto internal memory to be able to play it. i don’t want that.
You can constantly delete the cache to squeeze an extra bit of space. If you decide to root it you can give this app called No Bloat a try to see if you can get rid of any bloatware apps that came with your phone.

There isn’t much else you can do I think. You can probably save the game state and uninstall the game to put new ones in and when you want to play JSR again reinstall it and put back the old game save.
you switched to tmobile right? i don’t know about att right now. i think the bootloader is still locked (i might be wrong) so even if you did root it there aren’t any roms out for it yet.
we’ll have to get on irc or some shit so i can walk you through it.
