all of a sudden…our beloved phones seem outdated

I’m at the end of my rope. I’ve been looking for a reading app that’ll allow me to read .mobi files on my Android device but I’ve no luck. Anyone know one that isn’t Cool Reader?

Lol whats wrong with the kindle app? Try aldiko or moon reader.

I’m sort of bummed that the oppo n1 won’t have lte. I’d pass on the note 3 for it if it did. That’s how much I want it :frowning: the unveiling is at the end of September so maybe it will surprise me.

I’ve tried Moon Reader, no dice. It won’t recognize the .mobi files. I need it to read protected files. Kindle, even if I e-mail it to myself, won’t recognize the file.

Ughh… Im really thinking about getting the Xperia Z. Should I wait a little longer for Z1 news? I even hear there’s a Z1 mini in the works for early next year.

Galaxy gear 2 already in the works. Reportedly might be announced at mwc or ces (jan/feb). If they add gps and can get a couple days of battery into it ill bite.

Chinese version of htc max is utter crap. Rumored s4 pro chip or at the best a snapdragon 600. Going to be tough going up against the note 3.

Tmobile version of the note 3 presales start on the 18th to come out on oct2.

Sometimes I can get into first gen technology, but not bad first gen technology. They should have done what some other company did (I forget which) and built part of the battery into the wristband. Hell I thought that was a given before the damned thing was even released. Adding solar as a power source to extend battery life would be great too if possible. No GPS was a major failure. This would be the perfect accessory for keeping track of miles hiked/jogged etc. This was a common complaint I saw. Finally it needs some sort of passthrough. I’d be nice not to have to think about charging my phone and watch separately. Being able to do so on the same cable would be great.

  • does NFC take battery life down? I got a Nexus 4 a few weeks back and I took it off after a transfer. Wasn’t sure if it did.

People are saying tmobile stores already gave their note 3s and will be ready to sell on sept 26 (the global launch date). Pre orders are also stating 09/26 delivery date.

I’m sure it does but probably not a significant amount of battery life will go down leaving it on. You can test it by turning on NFC and Android Beam, use your phone normally and check the battery stat before recharging your N4 to see if NFC drained any battery life. As for me, I leave it off since I never use it outside of Google Wallet transactions. Wished buying things with a cell phone is more wide spread it’s so fast and convenient. Had someone asked me if he could do that with his iPhone.

I’m fiending for that Nexus 5. Smaller than the 4 but with a bigger screen and no glass back? It looks like a 5 inch 2013 Nexus 7 and as long as it stays with that low no-contract price, I can buy a new Nexus phone every year.

HTC manufactured the Nexus One, Samsung Manufactured the Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus, and LG manufactured the Nexus 4. Who do you guys think will or who do you want to manufacture the Nexus 5?

^ - LG is making it.

Thou shall not troll.

I heard rumors that it was going to be LG but wasn’t sure if it was true. That post gives proof that it is LG. Love my Nexus 4 and I can’t wait for the official news/ announcement of the Nexus 5.

contract is up in April, currently using galaxy 3. What to get…

mwc is in february so we’ll have a better idea of what’s coming out then. i’d suspect a redesign of the s5 and a new htc one will be announced there. not sure about what the new soc’s will be though. s5 will be disappointing if it only has the snapdragon800 in it considering it would have been in the note3 for 6 months.

If I didn’t already have the Note 3 pre-ordered, knew more about this company, and thought that this device would be available in the US I’d seriously consider snatching it up. It’s got a lot of things I want to see in the next generation of smart phones.

Dear Apple: THIS is innovation.

Is anyone here going from a Note 2 to the Note 3? I’m not sure if I want to upgrade, and I would love to hear your opinion.

About 90% sure im upgrading depending on the oppo n1 announcement tomorrow but im pretty sure it wont have tmobile lte so im on th3 note3 hype train.

The upgrade to the snapdragon800 is worth it imo. Benchmarks have it up to 4 times faster than the exynos in the note2. Add the full 1080p screen and improved multi window and its a fairly easy choice for me.

This will be the first time I buy a phone without an upgrade subsidy and that’s a little daunting. I plan on trying to sell my note2 so hoping to get 300 for it. I have 180 left to pay off my note 2 to tmobile so I have to do that as well. Tmobile is pretty awesome letting you just put 250 down and then an extra 20 a month on the note3. Then when the note4 comes out do it all over again. If I cant sell my note2 im ok with keeping it as a very capable but expensive backup phone.

The note 2 has been the best phone ive ever had and I have zero complaints with it but the note 3 has me hyped.
