there’s a bunch of 5"+ phones coming out by the end of the year ie. sony xperia honami, htc t6, note 3, lg g2
i’m pretty sure all of them will have the qualcomm 800 which will be the fastest chip available. the note3 is kind of a wildcard though because it might have the new exynos 5400 series chip which MIGHT be better than the 800 but it might be overseas only so you’d have to import it.
the note 3 should come with 3gb of ram and it looks like the lg g2 will also have 3gb of ram. the sony experia honami and the htc t6 will only have 2gb.
pros:
note 3 - stylus, 3gb of ram, 3rd generation “phablet"
sony xperia honami - sexy hardware?, likely to have the best camera (reported 20 mp, carl zeiss lens)
lg g2 - 3gb of ram, 5.2” screen so if you don’t want the size of the note3/t6, this would be the beefiest phone left
htc t6 - dat aluminum unibody construction, boomsound stereo speakers on the front
also samsung might release a gs4 with the qualcomm 800 here so again you could still get a superphone without the size of the phablets.
personally i’m 99% sure i’m getting the note3. i’ve had no complaints about my note2 and am on the sammy bandwagon for now. i only wish they would put stereo speakers on the front like htc. the only thing that could possibly sway me from samsung is if nokia started making android phones with dat pureview which won’t happen. they should at least license the tech out or something to someone else i don’t know what nokia is thinking putting all their eggs in the windows phone basket. i’m pretty sure microsoft is subsidizing their costs and shit because there’s no way they’re selling enough phones to stay in business for very long.
also there are reports the moto x might be announced august 1 and then ready THAT WEEK. that’d be pretty fucking awesome if true. my phone is one thing i don’t mind splurging on because i use it so much but if i didn’t want to spend 650+ on a phone the moto-x would be at the top of my shortlist. the nexus line would be plan 1a (rumored to be made by lg this time).
there’s just 1 thing about the game I disagree with.
the buttons being changed from
LP HP
LK HK
to
E S
P K
since its easy as hell to hit E+P simultaneously(LP+LK=Evasion), S+K simultaneously(HP+HK=blowback)…there’s no need to have changed the button scheme from the classic KoF configuration to do blowbacks or evasions.
in trying to simplify the controls they ended up making it more complicated for people with prior experience with KoF coz now with the new button scheme you have to re-learn how to play your mains to certain degrees.
This shit’s awesome, but does anyone know if you can use a bluetooth controller for manual control rather than just tapping on your opponent to attack? This game could become awesome with external controls. The current controls are as follows, as near as I’ve figured by playing.
Movement: tap to the left or right of you character to move in that direction
Jumping: tap above your character to jump, above and in front of you character to jump toward enemy, above and behind to jump away.
Air dash: while jumping, tap a point horizontally from your character to dash in that direction
Charge ki: touch character and hold finger in place
Hard dash combo attack: tap opponent while at a distance, continue to tap after making contactto follow up
melee combo: while close, tap opponent and continue to tap to follow up. Will seemingly randomly finish with Super attack if you have meter
Fireball: seems random while tapping opponent at a distance
Force repel…seems random. Had it happen while I was just trying to melee
Super attack: while holding a finger on your character, touch your enemy
When your character’s icon beside your life meter starts flashing with energy, you can tap it to dramatically blow your enemy away if they’re too close…haven’t noticed other benefits.
Characters are
Son Goku
Vegeta
Son Gohan
Piccolo
Kuririn
Freeza
Cell
And there are hidden characters that youeither have to earn or have to hack the game and change character names on folders to play as…
i dunno about that atom processor…i would suspect the price point to be cheaper than the nexus10 because nexus 10 has a much higher resolution and better processor. i think a lot of people had issues with last year’s nexus 7 so i’m not sure about asus build quality anymore. it might have been the tegra3 but both my transformer and nexus7 had/have crazy touch input lag.
I was actually in Best buy for about an hour today looking at the new Google Nexus 7, and was this close to getting one. I’m still thinking about it, and whether I’d wait for the 32gb version to pop out.
So before I bite and get an HTC One… any other phones coming out this year that are worth waiting for? I definitely game a lot on my phones and so one of the biggest things I like about the One is that it has front speakers.
what’s your budget? do you want/need the best? there are plenty of phones that will be out by the end of the year with the snapdragon 800 chip which is significantly faster than the htc one. the note 3 will be the best phone of the year imo. the one does seem to be the only phone with the stereo front speakers though :(.
