Awwww…
I’ll hold on to my GS2 for a while longer now that it’s confirmed.
I installed the official ICS update yesterday via Samsung Kies and it’s still buttery smooth. The only thing I didn’t like was that they took away the background pan effect when you swipe to the next screen. It REALLY bothered me for some reason, so I dumped TouchWiz for Launcher Pro Plus and all is well!
so i just heard about the unlimited data plans on verizon are getting modified. i have a grandfathered plan and my local rep told me that if i upgrade my contract before the 28th i’ll have unlimited for 2 more years, but if i don’t i’ll have to pay full retail price for phones. kinda upset about this, but i think i’m just gonna bite the bullet and upgrade. is the galaxy s3 going to be as amazing as people make it seem? or is there going to be an upgraded quad core version coming out later?
I would definitely get the GS3 if I was eligible to upgrade…just my opinion.
The Snapdragon S4 1.5 GHz dual-core & 2GB of system RAM should be freaking AMAZING!
Yeah, I read about that, and it sucks. I guess the unlimited texting and voice is fine, but that data part bites.
I was also going to put my D2G on my plan for the 3 weeks I’m in America, and just take it off when I’m finished, but apparently that will rid me of my unlimited data plan…and my mom (who has my original D2 consumes 2+GB of data every month)
So I’ll probably just use prepaid. Does Page Plus still activate Verizon phones? Or am I going to have to use Verizon’s prepaid service?
I installed ICS and my bluetooth was all wonky and the keyboard for text messages lagged a lot. I had tmo replace it with a refurb. seems ok now. it probably had to do with wiping the phone and run a clean install of ICS. oh well. I dont really miss the panning bg that much. but thats cool.
Nice!
A few apps I use quite a bit are Veetle, Tune-In Radio, Beautiful Widgets, and Kies Air.
A few of my favorite games are Super Stickman Golf, Radiant HD, and Gunman Clive.
A couple of good benchmarking apps I use are Nena Mark 1, Nena Mark 2, and Speed Test.
If you choose to root your device, I highly recommend SuperSU, Titanium Backup, ROM Manager, AdFree, and Apps2SD (by Sam Lu).
I’m thinking of picking one up. I’ll wait till Best Buy gets their store demo before picking one up. Also its good to wait for more accessories to be available.
