Your music player must be picking up ALL mp3 files stored on your SD. You can truncate where/how big of a file to add to the music player if you’re using a third party music player, like PowerAMP (my favorite)
Is the Virgin Mobile EVO 4G the same as the one released on Sprint? I’m currently without a contract and thinking of going the prepaid route. A $35 plan with unlimited text and data is friggin’ crazy.
Tempted to get the new galaxy 3 when it comes out or just the photon…
I wonder if all the US versions of the Galaxy S3 will only come with the dual-core processors? UK versions have the quads, but it seems the US versions will not.
Yes. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL2F07DBCDCC01493A&feature=plcp
You need to be familiar with Java and XML first though, esp. Java (XML you can learn pretty quickly).
You also need Eclipse (you can do it in Netbeans, but last I checked there was a bug)
Also, let me save you about 5 hrs of frustration:
MAKE SURE THAT WHEN YOU RUN YOUR PROGRAMS ALL YOUR XML FILES ARE CLOSED.
If not, you get an error and you get something like file.out.xml
To fix this:
- delete all the xml files with “out”
- from the tabs at the top, Project->Clean"
- Run the project
That is one. Also, chances are, you will rely on a file called “R.java” . Unfortunately, from time to time, when you clean your projects, it will mysteriously vanish. . The majority of the time, it means one of your xml files is messed up. Fix that, clean your project, and it will reappear.
Aside from those two bugs, Android programming is fun.
That GS3 looks super nice for sure but…is it gonna have shitty ass touchwiz & bloatware?
Another reason why I love my Galaxy Nexus.
I got a small question about Google Voice!
I just got it and it works and its dandy when I call US numbers. I know it will also work for Canada but do Canadians receive it as local or long distance? It’s great that is free for me but why screw over the other people?
Does that matter? Not being a jerk, I don’t know how Canada’s phone service works, but I would guess similar to the US?
In America, I know receiving International calls for me has never resulted in long distance, likewise for anyone I’ve called internationally.
If you’re talking about landlines, at least in America, I’ve never heard of long distance being charged to anyone but the caller.
Does it matter for the other guy? Hell yeah it matters, I don’t wanna tell someone it’s all good to call me on that number to whatever only for them to be hit with some huge ass fee. I’m just not that big of an asshole.
BUT from what I gather from you, long distance fees are only incurred by the caller which in this case is fantastic because I’m not paying jack but what happens to texts?
I believe received texts count as domestic texts for billing sake on all texts received (which means it would come out of your texting plan or you pay regular price for them), but sent texts internationally incur an extra fee on a country-by-country basis. IIRC I never had to pay for any text I received from Korea while I was in the states. I did have to pay if I texted Korea.
So if there’s no additional charge for texting US from Canada, they are fine no matter what most likely.
What I’m hearing here is I can send and call but I can’t get responses? That’s a real crapshoot.
Well, that’s if Canadian Telecoms treat the US as international calling/texting or not. If they don’t, then you’re fine, they can call you back or text you.
Ight G3 comes out soon and as I mentioned I plan on getting it or the photon…I can get it August 1st for $200(little less if I trade my evo in to them)…G3 or Photon?!
nope, factory reset just rolls back to the time the last OS was installed, so it will just roll back to ICS and overwrite your original Gingerbread.
i know t mo in america charges for wireless tethering. not sure if i can even tether via USB either, but the SGII has been nerfed like that.
from what i read, the SGIII is the exact same as overseas. So it should be a quad-core.
There seems to be an issue with LTE networks. I just hope the T-Mobile version has the quad. Check out the spec sheet for the AT&T version on Amazon.

I finally bit the bullet and rooted. Wish I had earlier, it was just that easy with the Moto Droid series. I was worried it’d brick, but I just set it to root, went to the bathroom, came back, and saw my lock screen and a prompt saying it was successfully rooted.
Now if I could find a good, stable ROM for D2G that I can flash to that works with .618 versions that isn’t MIUI. That’s yet another scary thing.
Trying out Go Launcher.

So far, I’m enthused.
Sent from my DROID2 GLOBAL
