I don’t know about Droid X, but I used non-OEM batteries throughout my possession of my Droid 2 and never had that happen.
Mom is using the phone now, and AFAIK, those batteries still work for her.

Me again, semi-dead Moto/Verizon Droid X, Froyo. After 3 out of 7 attempts, I now can get the phone to boot (by holding the power button while inserting the battery) to the white Motorola logo… which it shows for like 5 seconds, then the phone dies. This is at least a sign of life, so I’m happy. Now, I’ve tried to get into recovery mode, and there is no different screen other than the white Moto logo, and the phone dying 5 seconds later. I tried to boot into whatever special mode you get by holding volume down, camera and power, and it just shows a blank black screen for 5 seconds (no options to select like faqs show), then dies. Is there any way I can save this phone on my own? Batteries are fine, I use an external charger for them, as the phone seems unable/unwilling to charge them internally. Some threads say something about “sbf” using a pc, but how can you do that if the pc won’t even SEE the phone unless it’s powered on?
Edit: Got Bootloader to start…but “Battery Low, cannot program”. Battery is legitimately low from trying to boot phone all day, will continue trying with fresh battery while this one is on the charger.
Got Bootloader to start again “Battery Ok, Ok to program, connect usb”…then it died a second after I read all that.
Android finally got Instagram today in Play.
…iOS owners are mad, bro.
Instagram is gdlk. That is all.

Oh yeah they’re mad alright  http://www.buzzfeed.com/katienotopoulos/iphone-users-disgusted-by-android-instagram
Wow that’s worse Fanboyism than PS3/360
I had instagram back when I still had an iPhone, but now it’s just different now that I’m on Android.

ahahaha
Wow, that’s some harsh Fanboyism coming out of the iOS fan club. I’m not even that much of a fan of Instagram that I’d go out of my way to think of it as being a “must have” app on the Android platform either. Butt hurt because they’ve lost their “exclusive app” (lol… such a thing).
Almost time to upgrade my phone (a few weeks), any suggestions? I’m on an HTC Thunderbolt at the moment, rooted, flashed to an ICS ROM.
If you’re looking to have something that can run ICS and you want to stay with Verizon, I guess you can’t go wrong with the Galaxy Nexus.
I think one of the funniest things was people saying the quality of pics would decrease on Instagram cause of Android, implying iPhones are the only phones with an 8mp camera. Random iPhone using chick with blurry Twitter avatar said she was mad because blurry Android pics were going to ruin Instagram.
And last I checked mofos were posting filtered (decade old) meme pics and other random bullshit, so I’m not sure how much farther quality would decrease.
iOS heads were saying stuff like “too bad you cant use Emoji icons”.
…like those increase your maturity on this whole subject. In true hipster iOS fashion, they mad, bro.
Yeah, this is the most comical element of the ordeal. They’re forgetting that there are *some cameras out there running Android OS *that have 13mp or higher on them. Last I checked, the only things running the iOS are iPads, iPhones, and iPods. It’s just stupidity on their part - it happens when something that got so “popular” ends up being shared with another demographic. As gamers, we should definitely be familiar with the concept. Exclusives being released on another system, etc.
anyone have a razr maxx? just wondering how it is. i heard it has awesome battery life. looking forward to seeing the incredible 4g. any chance the galaxy s3 will be coming to verizon?
I didn’t know the entire weeaboo population were iOS users.
Switched to Verizon after 10 years with ATT for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus…could not be happier.
Phone is a beast.
Having trouble with my Moto Bionic overheating. Anytime I use the device it gets hot. I’ve been ending tasks and pulling the battery, but anytime I open an application it starts warming up. If it’s a very intensive application, like Netflix, it’ll be on fire in a couple of minutes. Not sure what might be causing this. I’m going to try a battery swap with my g/f’s device and see if it helps, hers doesn’t seem to be having the issue.
I had that problem with my OG Droid and switched out the battery. It fixed that issue.
Yeah I’m hoping it’s just the battery. I’d have no issue buying a new one. So far it seems to be a bit better since I’ve been using her battery. I still feel heat, but not unbearably burning like it was before. I’ll try and tax it with Netflix on my lunch break. Gonna ride the day out and see how it goes.
I’ve also been using one of those INCIPIO silicone cases that might have been a contributor. I’m leaving it off for the day while testing, mainly because it’s a pain in the ass to put on or remove.
I agree, sold my Droid X2 for ~200 and picked up a Used (Clean ESN) Galaxy Nexus from Ebay for $345. Keep my upgrade on my account in case something grand comes out soon.
Seems issue isnt the battery. Watched a bit of Netflix with swapped battery and its extremely hot to touch. Had the girlfriend do the same and hers stayed cool.
