Are you looking to keep the stock nook UI and have Market access, or are you okay with running a custom ROM which would turn it into a tablet?

If I turned it into a tablet would I still be able to put books and shit on it? I know it is a dumb question I just do not know much about how these things work. If so then yeah.

Absolutely loving my Galaxy Nexus still…

Just got to play around with the Samsung Galaxy Note…BIG ASS screen, a real wacom pen with click and everything. Pretty badass, would love to see it with ICS however. Lots of ATT bloatware on that thing.

Yeah you would. It just would look like a giant phone with Market access. On my nook Color, i have the nook app and the Kindle app from the Market. oddly enough, the kindle app works better than the nook app hahah

I’m at work right now so I’ll put some stuff together when i get home.

Fyi, anyone with a Touchpad should be at rootzwiki, 9.0 Alpha 2 has working hardware acceleration, meaning HD youtube and Netflix.

so i just figured out that since we have a google tv here in the office, it has android market.

are there any apps that point out useful free apps for android market like app store on ios has? like “appadvice” or “appsgonefree”? im fuckin cheappp

Rooting has changed a lot since I first did it to my nook color. To be honest, I forgot how I did mine. But apparently, it’s gotten easier. The latest guide to do it is here:

It seems simple enough; download a file, write that file to an SD card, insert it into your nook. Once you get root access, you get the Market. Download and install ROM Manager to get Clockwork Recovery, and then you’ll be able to install a custom ROM and use that as your main OS for the nook color.

There is Black Mart Alpha, you can find a download. When you install that, you can get the paid apps for free.
Easiest way I know to get it, is download gmob365, go in one of the rooms labeled apps find the one with a Big Black **B, **and download and install it. Every popular paid app is usually on there, and for free. I’m sure there are youtube videos on how to do it.

I did the upgrade to CM9 alpha2 yesterday. YouTube is running smoothly and so are http streams like Twitch.tv. :nunchuck:

ICE is out for the Asus Transformer…yes! Now all I need is ICE for this X2 but apparently that’s not happening. Contract is up next month so Galaxy here I come!

Ics is truly amazing os. Its like a computer in your pocket. I hardly feel the limitations of mobile os these days.

Now with jellybean rumors floating that would be even more true. Supposedly the 5.0 focuses on the desktop experience. I can already hook up a kb/m a monitor and use my nexus like a pc, but expect more of that from next os. And also running android straight off your pc as well.

Faux? Kernel dev over at XDA? Man, didn’t know that.

Droid x still isn’t working. Got my new batteries and charger, and everything’s fine there. It’s the phone. I press the power button, and there’s the usual white flash from the led…but the phone won’t power on. I’ve tried all kinds of tricks and battery pulls. I’m gonna go buy a t4 screwdriver and take it apart. I know there’s some shit in there…there’s what looks like a small piece of silica gel behind the screen in the upper right corner, and what looks like a tiny piece of wood or a crumb on the other side. It was apparently tossed or dragged judging by some deep, straight gouges on the right side of the outer case. Maybe some debris that got inside before I found it is causing a problem.

Yup. He plays Cammy AFAIK

What’s the easiest way to root my Samsung Galaxy S 4G and install new firmware?

Can I install ics OS on it?

I’m having trouble rooting this thing, so any help would be appreciated.

You never got that going? Did you try downloading another file explorer that grants root access, like root explorer? You may have to bite the bullet and pay for it.

I used this

Any good?

So after playing with ICS on my nook color over the past few weeks, i really dig it. However the features would really benefit from a better-powered device like the transformer prime and similar tabs. I went back to cm7 on my nook and it’s back in super shape! :stuck_out_tongue:

Come on ICS on my MyTouch 4G! I cant wait until they get that camera working.

I’m using my tablet more now that ICS is on it. Its just “works”; fast and responsive. Got my upgrade coming from Verizon so I plan on getting a Galaxy Nexus within the next 3 weeks.
