The only commonality should be a set of basic standards to qualify for funding. The rest the Parent who pays the tax bill and actually cares about their children are entitled to steer the direction of their subsidy, No Bureaucrat, teacher, Union rep, text book manufacturer cares about my kids education as much as I do. I have two Daughters who I started home schooling after shooter drills they affectionately call Code Reds.
We get through Common Core curriculum in less than two hours, which takes State employees 8+? Mine are 5 & 7 they write & speak Latin fluently, and are conversational in French and Spanish. Three way tie between German, Italian and Chinese for next year. They Code in C+/Java, and test in everything at or above 7th grade via common core standards it is trash.
Teachers have failed American students for as long as anyone can remember, time to let the Parents choose.
No they get the same funding they do now, Proportional to the amount of students they have.
Because they are, and with more funding than any country in the world have still failed, when they don’t do their job you let parents take their kids and tax dollars to someone who will.
I wouldn’t really call myself conservative. I supported Nader in 2000, Kucinich & Ron Paul in 2008. My ideological clones Penn Jillette, we rarely disagree.
I support national health care, funding for education hell I even think the Universal Basic Income might work. Trump opposed the Iraq war, Hillary voted for it so your Military aggression argument is about a decade old.
As far as educational funding I support what we have now, the difference between me and you is I want to give the Debit card to the parents, you want to give it the same State employees who abused it and failed for the last 60 years. They had their turn, and failed it’s time for something new.
