Updated OP. I really appreciate everyone’s help but most of the combos posted in this thread are inferior versions of others already posted or just way too situational. If there’s a practical combo I missed let me know. I’ve tested almost everything and please keep in mind if you have a combo you want added to OP make sure it either hasn’t been posed or does more damage then a similar combo posted. Also please from now on use the button icons when posting combos it makes it a lot easier for me to copy and paste instead of having to insert all the colons myself thanks.
:h::d::h: xx :qcf::l: > :s: sj j.:qcf::h: (wait) charged j.:h: (land) dash charged :qcf::l: > :h::d::h: xx :qcf::l: xx :qcf::atk::atk: 710-740k damage, 1 meter
(the combo at 0:17 starts from :d::l: and does 675k)
Corner only:
:h::d::h: xx :qcf::l: > xx :qcf::l: > :s: sj j.:qcf::h: (wait) charged j.:h: (land) charged :qcf::l: > :h::d::h: xx :qcf::l: xx :dp::atk::atk: 940k damage, 3 meter
Impractical, since it needs to start from . Shuffle doesn’t connect because of low hitstun.
These should work against most medium-sized characters.
Edit: Combo 1 works midscreen if you dash before the charged :qcf::l:.
does about 550k damage and is easy as hell. it also is easy ass hitconfirmable in any situation anywhere on the screen, and it’s way more consistent than the regualar weapon change combos into glave that does about the same damage and are by far more character and range dependent. i do this every time when i manage to land IAD crossup j.H, etc… it also builds a good amount of meter. i use this as my bnb atm.
The one I’ve been using recently is Airdash -> :h: (hitting behind)>:m:>:h:>:f::h::h::h::h::h:>:d::d:>:s:>:m:>:m:>:df::h:>:qcf::s:>:qcf::atk::atk: Could probably be better, but does 550k and I can consistently pull it off in actual games (unlike the glaive :qcf::l: combos) Also gets you in the habit of doing quick weaponswitches, which is nice.
It seems the key to this (other than neither move having HSD) is that power slash M hangs in the air soon enough to hit and continue the combo, but late enough that :f::h: is ready to continue afterwards, probably not a lot of height leeway though. Since all slashes are the other than position, I wonder if :qcb::h: works on any of the bigger characters.
Whoa. Just made a pretty huge discovery.
You can stick a >:qcb::l:/> in before pretty much any combo for more damage! You need to cancel into the Powerslash pretty soon after the M, but that basically adds a little chunk to every combo on the first page.
(Even later after a :f::h: chain. The combo I was using before can now be j:h:>:m:>:h:>:f::h::h::h::h::h:xx:qcb:>:m:>:h:>:f::h::h::h::h::h:>:d::d:>sj:m:>:m:>:df::h:>:qcf::s:>:qcf::atk::atk: for 600k
Edit: Only got the above to work in corner, but j:h:>:m::qcb:>:m::h::f::h:… works
Or in Glaive >:qcf:>:m:>:h:>:d::h:>:qcf::l:…
Tends to be 20-30k more
I tried both :qcb: and :qcb::h: on all characters standing, and the ones I thought were around the correct height crouching. Didn’t find any matches, it’s a really specific height. I think it might be possible on other characters to :qcb::h:>:f::h::h:xx:qcf::h: so that the first paper hits at around the 9th frame of the startup of the new one, then repeat. I couldn’t get it though, and you could probably only safely start it with an assist.
For frame data, Powerslash has 10 startup, 26 recovery, and +8 Frame advantage on hit, :f::h: has 14 startup, and any hit can be cancelled into PS. So basically, with perfect timing, the powerslash has to hit a minimum of 6 frames after being called for an infinite to work, and it’s probably a few frames looser than that. Continuing off that, means :f:(:h:*n) has at least 16 frames of hitstun, (definitely several more, at least 20, since you can weaponswitch (10) into :s: (7) after 2 s and 2 :h:s)
Through the testing though, I found out how much I love xxP-p-p-powerslash.
watching wednesday night fights right now, and james chen mentioned an ammy combo that uses 3 okami shuffles. you start with the reflector 5x H, then switch to sword and continue the combo. does anyone have a video or the notation for it?
This is a tech trap that I discovered, I’m not sure if anyone else has posted it or not.
(In Glaive) :d::l:>:d:>:d::h:>:qcf::l:>:l:>:m:>:h:>:qcf::l:>:m:>:s:>Air >Air >Air :s:>Air :df::h: xx Air :qcf::l:, Forward Air Throw, Air :qcf::atk::atk: > Air :df::h: > Air :qcf::s: xx :qcf::atk::atk:
~870k damage, 2 meters
It is risky, because a forward air recovery or break away can stop the reset, but it is so nice to land it.
Just do the f+H x5 and then cancel that into glaive switch then do 5M S, j.m j.m 3h 236s okami shuffle (on the first two the sword from the 236s has to hit the ground) on the last one you have to cancel the sword before it hits the ground so you get a ground bounce. I have been practicing this and its pretty easy to get 2 reps but so far have a hard time getting the last one.
yeah you need to do :qcf::h:, land, :s:, sj. :qcf: :atk::atk:
full combo notation is:
reflector:
:l::h::f::h:x5:s:sj.:h::h::h::qcf::h:, land,:s:, sj.:qcf::atk::atk:
500k-550k damage and builds a little under 1 meter before the hyper.
Trag does it as the 2nd combo in Ammy’s apprentice combo video: Marvel Hyper Guide - Amaterasu - Apprentice Combos
