wesker haggar phoenix is the team i’m running it’s soo good anyway is there any other team that’s like that? i was thinking wesker iron man phoenix because iron man’s assist locks your opponent down plus he has a fireball unlike haggar & can fly lol is that a good team or no?
its not good because it has iron man in it but have you tried to use hulk instead of haggar because his anti air is a better get off assist but the reset potential isnt as good
Learn the Iron Man infinite, and it’ll be good.
i guess im gunna stick it out with haggar & see wht i can do if not i’ma drop his ass for another character but i love wesker/phoenix
“Wins” means Phoenix takes no damage. All tests were done by performing Phoenix Rage during the opponent’s cinematic screen.
Phoenix Rage (PR) vs…

Shinkuu Hadoken – PR loses unless very close
Maximum Voltage – PR always wins, Teleport M at full screen
Akuma fireball spam hyper – PR always wins, Teleport M from almost anywhere
Akuma beam hyper – PR loses unless at 1/3 screen away, then trades or wins
Genmu Zero – PR loses, Teleport at 2/3 screen away
Nemesis rocket hyper – PR wins, Teleport ½ screen away
Dimension Slash – PR wins
Spiral Swords – Swords don’t protect him, but you can’t punish unless very close
Blue Cart Special – PR wins
Goddess Bracelet – PR wins, teleport ½ screen away
Dark Fire – PR wins
For the Princess – PR loses
Grenade Launcher – if far, ice grenade and PR nullify each other, but you recover and can teleport M; if close, ice grenade nullifies PR and hits Phoenix; teleport M unless close
Finishing Shower – PR mostly wins, small trade; teleport M kills you
Shadow Servant – PR trades unless very close, then wins; teleport M unless very close
Desperado – trades far, loses up close, teleport far wins

Stalking Flare – PR wins (small damage far), teleport M wins
Thanks for this Karst. I remember when ultimate first came out I went to test this on all the new characters and some of the old characters just so I could know but it’s good to have this written somewhere just in case someone needs to copy and paste or have this sticked somewhere. Also if I can recall when I tested out Phoenix Rage the first 2 days of ultimate the super looses to Iron Fists level 3 super. I don’t know what it’s called lol.
It also I think “trades” w/ ghost riders bike super in the fact that ghost rider takes damage from the super but he keeps on driving lol
Same w/ Nemesis Lunge super unless really close up i believe.
Morrigan/Phoenix synergy:
Morrigan Throw, Shadow Servant -> Healing Field, Teleport M, s.H + Dark Harmonizer, f.H, TK Trap L, f.H, TK Trap L, c.HS, sj.MMHS, tk.TK Shot L, dp.H
Builds 1.2 bars back and does ~580K. You get another Dark Harmonizer call right after the combo ends bringing you to to 1.5 bars, so unless you do something dumb this looks like a safe combo to perform off of Morrigan’s throw when you have 5 bars of meter and don’t want to risk losing Dark Phoenix. Of course, it also works if you have Dark Phoenix, and is then roughly meter neutral unless you want to end in Phoenix Rage, which does about 1 million damage all told.
I’m still looking for that Morrigan/Phoenix combo synergy that lets me use Astral Vision mid-combo somehow, even if it involves TACs, while remaining meter neutral. It must be out there!
Only thing that I can think of at the moment is probably something like ending a phoenix combo in the air w/ phoenix rage and then dhcing into astral vision. But it depends on how much recovery astral vision has and then shooting soul fists while they are coming down. It’s like my phoenix/ammy super thing that I do but just w/o ammy.
Or maybe of a throw midscreen then tk’ing the medium fireball into super and then dhcing into fireballs?
Morrigan can land Soul Drain off of Phoenix Rage, but that only recovers 2/3rds of a bar while I lost two. If I could land two Soul Drains then I’d be more inclined to do the combination, but the wall bounce on Phoenix Rage makes the setup very picky in terms of space.
How do you guys feel about Haggar/Ammy/Phoenix? I think it good in theory, but I haven’t been able to test it out because my 360 red ringed
It sounds like you better hope none of your opponents have projectiles.
or magneto…
I figured I would go around and post this on character forums so folks can check it out:
I’ve messed around with phoenix a bit but I was recently thinking it’d be nice to have a pocket phoenix team.
How viable would just putting two high health characters with her as anchor. The idea is to just use the 1st two characters as literal meat shields and get most of the meter from their deaths since their life totals are so high. My first thought was Hulk and Thor since I think they have the most health.
Anyway, would this concept even work? Not saying this would be a good strat but I think it’d be funny and I also just want to get to Xfactor Dark Phoenix asap when I play.
I had tried a similar strategy with Thor/Doom(Missiles)/Phoenix, the idea was 50% meat shield and use mighty taunt whenever my opponent ran from missiles. It seemed to work out alright, but I never went too deep with it.
Well I’m debating either the meat shield strategy or a run away team and just try and build meter safely.
My hope was that I could just use the meat shields to ensure I get 5 meters once they die. literally just spamming hulk assist while I do mighty taunt. I’m literally not even playing the other characters.
My goal is a team that that gets me right to 5 meters and then go XF3 and Dark. I just want to play phoenix if I’m going to use her. I don’t care about the other characters at all. Once I go XF3Dark it won’t matter anyway.
And then you realise there is something in the game called a snapback.
Hey guys been a while since i hitup marvel! started playing again yesterday and realised how much I missed it. Looking for a phoneix team allways been a massive fan of her since the days of fox kids x men show when growing up haha. So my team ideas right now are trying to get a mix of these characters to support phoneix (she will be anchor I imagine).
Deadpool, Sent, Dorm, Hulk, Ammy, Doom, Morrigan, Felicia, Magneto, Joe, Jill, Shuma, Skrull
These are the characters im fairly solid with looking for a good two characters that have some decent synergy with phoneix initial thoughts are…
DP/ Sent / Jean
Magneto / Dorm / Jean
Not sure how the others would work any advice guys? cheers! anyone up for matches at anytime also feel free to add me Snuggle Walrus on XBL
still very much a novice.
I’m an ass jean player but love her and don’t know why but could a ???/strider/jean team work?
without being clockwork…
I would think that if you wanted to use strider then point strider, doom phoenix is good and interchangeable depending on matchup…
basically anyone with a OTG or a decent Okizeme can go in front of strider… but i would run a point strider team… lots of resets because his meter build is very poor… Good luck
