I don’t think so. IMO chun li rapes urien for free. It seems like she can beat any normal antiair he has with jumping RH. Yes you can parry but she can jump in and throw. His normals and specials moves are too slow and easier to parry IMO. Also she can counter anything he does basically. I use to play chun li and I never had problems with urien, but I don’t want to play with chun li (the cable or sagat of 3S). That’s why i’m staying with hugo and i’m trying to learn how to play with Oro now.
Chun gives several problems me so that their attacks are fast and good but when I have bar with the riflector does not give so many problems
Chun-Li has many problems with Makoto IMHO. Solid Chunners have no reason to to jump for the most part, and Makoto is the queen of the ground combat. Quick Quick and very Quick. did i mention that Makoto is very quick.

BTW what’s been going on? See any free time coming in the future? Reason I ask is due to the fact that I’ve been having an itchy fingure when it comes to 3S. Things get tiring going against the same ole stuff acesmith5 and TMM throw at me over and over again while playing.
We seriously need to get together some time and play some 3S. Maybe have a ghetto console tourney or something I don’t care lol.
This is why I said I’m not all too sure about the Chun vs. Urien match-up. Everyone has a different opinion concerning this match-up.
I guess it really depends on the player. (Like if you’re Tokido. :lol: )

I have a question for anyone that plays makoto. How do you connect her lk to the kara grab? I know it does work, but i must be doing something wrong.
You have to cancel the lk BEFORE it connects with the opponent. In other words the lk should miss, and while it’s extended do the Karakusa. This moves her forward a good bit then grabs the opponent, but if you connect the lk the throw will miss (Block/Hit stun). The move is like MvC2 in which you can cancel it without having to connect.

Anyway, thanks for your Q advice Silvergear. I’m able to do some things with him now, but I still can’t really attack much with him…
-after a blocked c.lk, I usually mix up his command throw/EX & basic pimp slaps to stop them from jumping and such. The occasional super (SA I) seems to help as well.
-I use the mp attacks to get closer to them while still charging for the rush punches. Easier for me to punish missed pokes and such.
-I tend to jump with him quite a bit cause his attacks are either powerful or can stop alot of anti-air attacks (J.MK, J.FK, J.FP comes to mind).
Am I playing him wrong or what? Also any vs Chun Li strats would be nice…
Well i play Chun-Li and i will post some chains and strats that i use, note SA2 is the only super she needs and thats what i post:
Anti-Airs:
Standing+Fierce
Crouching+Roundhouse
Back+Fierce
Parry+Standing Roundhouse
Meter Builders:
back+Fierce
Standing Strong
Standing Roundhouse with Chun hops her of the ground good against Makoto or someone trying to use a Kara Throw
Simple Chains:
Back+Fierce --> Houyokusen --> Superjump --> Down+Midkick
Back+Fierce --> Houyokusen --> Superjump --> Fierce + Feirce
Crouching,Fierce —> Foward Spinning Bird Kick (Note only works with foward)
if u use Foward to hit then a short SBK is neccary
most of her strats are chains to her supers, good for chun all her chains are links and not 2 in 1s.
Good things to learn is how to charge partition her SBK(spinning bird kick) goes through fireballs and shit, pluis real quick moves save u on wake ups some time.
as of recently i found out that here Standing Strong links into SA2 this is real good considering most playas look for the cr.foward, now they have more to worry about.
Yun and Yang:
Against them Chun has Major Problems! Parries into her standing Roundhouse will often give u breathing room. don’t jump at all! these guys will beat out all of her air moves. I suggest dash under and go

I manage a gamestop on the corner of roswell and abernathy. I ALWAYS have 3s loaded up on the DC so if anyone wants to drop by for a quick match, feel free. no sticks. no room for them really, but i can get by on pad (sometimes :lol: )
