The 7th Inning Stretch a.k.a. MLB 2k7 Season thread (Fantasy baseball included)

:rofl::rofl: and beckett said he’s gonna join in if we win the world series.

Holliday hits one right back at Papelbon, then Papelbon picks him off to end the inning.

I’m gonna start practicing the Papelbon dance.

paplebon got the quick reflexes…nigga almost got hit in the side.

3-0 redsox top of the third.

lol this shit is done…lol freeeeeeeeeeee dice k hittin man this is great!

man even dice-k fucked them up. jesus.

shine our new rings up nice boys…this may be a fucking sweep.

 Really hope they can somehow take it to 7 games, but it isn’t looking likely.

Dice-K has the same number of hits as the whole Rockies :stuck_out_tongue: and 2 more RBI’s

haha damn Boston is tearing shit up with their bats lately…

Duno man, we may be down by 4, but this game is tight regardless. Shit got good midway through.

OH SHIT! Holiday, Holliday, Holliday, love that day-

Man, keep this momentum up guys. Keep these Sox pitchers on their toes.

Money set-up man Okajima gives up 3 runs… 1 run game now. EXCITING!

We have ourselves a ballgame.

Oh shit…6-5? Aww man. I’m not even really into baseball but…

lol true.

red sox win 10-5 longest world series game in history.

Ain’t nuttin but a peanut! We’ll see what happens tomorrow night.

Mike Lowell is seriously one of the smartest baseball players in the league. Stealing third and manufacturing that 10th run all by himself, that heads up play to combine with Lugo for that force at third…120 regular season RBI’s and this guy was the salary dump for the Beckett trade.

Damn. Though Hanley Rameirez is very, very good. Offensively at least.

And Lugo - that catching leap to get that line drive early in the game…absolutely killed Colorado’s momentum. Honestly, that’s the play of the game right there.

Boston is absolutely unstoppable - they’re just plain better in every aspect of the game. I’m actually amazed Cleveland took them to seven games…though there was absolutely no way they were winning Game 7 in Fenway.

2001 was a great World Series (two home runs off Kim, Luis Gonzalez’s bloop single off Rivera in Game 7), 2002 was a great World Series (Angels rallied back in Game 7), and even 2003 was pretty good (Beckett just dominant throughout). But since then…there have been absolutely zero entertaining World Series match-ups worth watching.

I love Mike Lowell, but that steal was easy. That pitcher’s delivery had a full-blown cocking motion (hehehehe) before he even wound up.

Though, the Lowell-Becket-Ramirez trade, IMO, was pretty even. Beckett wasn’t the generally elite pitcher he is considered now. And Lowell “flipped the contract year switch” this season, as he was always an 80 RBI kind of guy. Hanley, though, is THE best shortstop in MLB this season. Better than Jose Reyes. Better than Derek Jeter. Better than Edgar Renterria. Better than Jimmy Rollins. So awesome.

Lugo’s two big defensive plays were both absolutely spectacular. Say what you want about the rest of the game, but those two Lugo plays and Matsuzaka’s Sol-Badguy rushdown on Kazuo Matsui were probably the best single plays in the game.

I would love to say this shit is a sweep, but i just have a feeling rockies win next game but thats it after that bosox win.

I have very little faith that Lester will be especially great tonight.
