I was at the Blue Jay game alst night, pure madness. Josh Towers is such a friggen scrub, I dunno what he’s thinking talking all th is shit, first about his team, now about the Yankees. I’m sure his 75 mph fastball really hurt A-Rod. Couple notes:
Joba Chamberlain is the fucking future. That guy’s stuff is electric.
It hurts being a Blue Jay fan right now because this series essentially kills them from playoff contention. Of course, I’d rather see the Yankees win instead of the Sox.
I still haven’t seen an all out brawl
I left around the 8th to try and catch Barry’s HR, thank god I did.
The Yankees will be in Anaheim in two weeks when I’m in Cali. I have to go to a game. I must burn the Rally Monkey on their home turf. I will also provide video and pics.
Two divisions are clinched. Angels and the Indians. Boston and New York have yet to settle their places.
Whoever gets the best record in the AL (not NL) gets to decide their Division Series schedule (wether to have an extra day off or not).
Interesting scenario happening in the NL West. The Rockies are now 1 1/2 games behind San Diego for the NL Wild Card. What makes this interesting? The Diamondbacks last two series are against Pittsburgh and Colorado. The Padres last two series are against San Francisco and Milwaukee (4 games). Assuming the Diamondbacks clinch the division before their series with Colorado, and Milwaukee’s still in the hunt for the NL Central, it’s assumed that Arizona will rest their starters and let Colorado take those games, while San Diego has to face the Brewers who will be fighting. This could cause San Diego to lose the Wild Card to Colorado (unless the Phillies get it).
These races are crazy this year. Everything’s coming down to the last week of the season.
No, that one’s pretty much over. 3.5 games with 6/7 games to go. Milwaukee plays St. Louis and San Diego. Chicago plays Florida and Cincinnatti. In order for Milwaukee to win the division at this point, They would have to win four more games than the Cubs in the remaining handful. If the Cubs win 4 games, it’s over, no matter what the Brewers do. If the Cubs go 2-4, the Brewers still have to go 6-1 to take the lead and 5-2 to tie.
It is amazing how many different teams are going to this years playoffs as opposed to last year. The only teams that made it last year, and are in playoff contention are the mets, yankees, and padres. Everyone is different from last year right.
AL playoffs are set. Right now it looks like this.
Yankees (WC) at Indians (Central)
Angels (West) at Red Sox (East)
It’s not set though because the best record in the AL is still up in the air. If the Angels win tonight they’ll be 2 GB Boston (Cleveland is 1GB) with two games to go. So the Yankees can end up facing the Angels instead if they win their last 3 games and Cleveland loses their last two.
NL has two teams clinching. Chicago wins the Central and Arizona clinches a playoff spot. Mets fall behind a game to the mutha fuckin’ Phillies. SERIOUS BUSINESS! If it ends this way, the playoffs look like this:
Padres (WC) at Phillies (East)
Cubs (Central) at Diamondbacks (West)
This one’s still too wacky and close. Two games left for these teams. Since Airzona clinched a playoff spot, they would win the WC if the Padres pass them. The WC can still come out of the East between the Mets and Phillies, and Colorado isn’t completely out of it in the WC race. This might not get decided until Sunday.
Nevermind, the AL playoffs are set, regardless of what the records end up being.
Boston hosts LA
Cleveland hosts NY
Given this, the best record in the AL is up for grabs between Boston and Cleveland (who are tied at 95-65) with two games to go. Whoever gets that gets to pick their Division Series schedule (wether to have an extra day off or not).
The postseason should be wide open this season especially in the National League. There’s no team that’s clear ahead of the others. Red Sox would be the closest to being a complete team but they’re no lock.
