scandia is dead because when it was hot and popping, they wouldn’t do shit for us. The fighting games might as well have been outside when it was raining. They didn’t want us there, I remember many a times, them announcing on the speakers everybody had to move because, what an idea, we had too many people playing, giving them money. for months there would be 20+ weekly friday nights, on horrible machines that should never have been used. Tournaments, legit money into the machines, they just waited to long to please there number 1 crowd for games, because initial D scene was dead, and the ddr kids had stopped playing because joey had moved.

Does anyone know if there is an online way to get in-touch with anyone responsible for the arcade machines at Scandia?
I’d like to ask about the possibility (even though slightly more costly) about switching the sticks to non-360’s. The optic ones aren’t calibrated correctly, or they’re just not good for Marvel. I’m not sure which. All I know is that it is difficult to jump u/f sometimes, and even down/back blocking and goof up. I can easily play magneto when we play together on our MAS sticks, but when I play at Scandia, I don’t even have fun because I can’t use him. Dave (our spikey-haired friend) gets far too many stick wins, and I don’t want to get his ego too big thinking he has a chance. We have to always go back to my place so I can set him in his place and erase any of the two wins he was able to rack up at Scandia.
I’d be there --as well as the rest of my friends-- every weekend night if I/we could play on working sticks. I’d like to see if they were even open to the idea, and if not, what their reasoning would be aside from having to pay for micro-switches.
I guess it was coming but it sucks to see. Mostly because I have vivid memories of it being pretty busy on Friday’s (almost every Friday). It was a time where we all got together, had fun and talked smack. Hell, I met pretty much all of you guys through one of the Scandia tournaments with my old Marin crew (R.I.P)
It sucks to hear that even though we had the placed packed originally (when the fighting games were squeezed in the aisle) and when they made the move to the front door, Scandia didn’t want what scene we tried to get going there.
Again hopefully my schedule opens so I can hit up some games with you guys up in Sonoma or at MGL.
Depression + shitty sticks limits the will to go to Scandia.
Ideally I’m sure we’d all like a little more solid of a group that plays often so we all don’t have to travel for any sort of competition, rather, we can get better from one another.
Everyone’s conflicting and awful schedules doesn’t work either. I think all of you remembered when we had that thing at Nick’s. To even just play a good amount with you guys I had to only get 3 hours of sleep before work.

No they didnt they just put it in the anniversary edition arcade cabinet which really sucks to play on. They have kof 02 running were the 3rd strike used to be at since everyone that goes plays that

went to scandia for first time in about a year tonight, nothing changed, well except the fact that they have a super turbo showcase cab with p360. too little, too late though. Remix is out, play that. This guy mex alex is getting too beastly in marvel
its all good frank, planet zero will still be there. yeah if i hadn’t saved, I wouldn’t be going either, but it will be too nice. I’ll take plenty of video, got that tony discount from circuit city.
