Haven’t played since that get together at someones house, I will be there to get familiar with the game again (shouldn’t take too long I would hope), but will be switching between marvel and cvs2. Really been getting back into mvc2 recently.
Tony’s Omega Red is legit. Surprised he didn’t go with his usual team to start.

Few minor things to address after tonights appearance. Who can we talk to @ Scandia about the P360 sticks? They are either completely too sensitive to diagonal directions, or not sensitive enough. On my MAS stick I literally have no issue every with any block issues that are not totally related to my own mistakes. Even if it stays, just want to say it sucks.
MvC2: Stilt, thanks for showing back up, actually coming in and beating us has made us all want to come back from our hiatus and work on our game. So if you don’t mind I’ll try and set things up with you ahead of time, I’d like to get a few more games in than we have been the last few times we’ve been able to play. --A_Rival, starting from scratch from MvC2 is difficult. Maybe sometime we can get together and I’ll go over some basic team structures and combos with you so you’ll have a slightly less learning curve. Less than a month and we will have you fast fly rush downing with the best of them. Although if anyone wants help, I will do my best to explain what I’ve learned.
Also is there any way we can ask the management to change it to 1 token, I’m a bum, it’s not that I physically cannot come up with money, but when I have to choose between a gallon of gas, and 10 games at best of Marvel, I have to choose the gas right now. Also new players would be willing to risk just 1 token as opposed to 2 against better players, only inspires more potential skill. I think MvC2 is important to have some sort of arcade presence, but while some are not open to house games, I will be happy to help and share what I know of the game in a much more helpful in-depth manner as opposed to screaming over Sakura’s shosho with less than stellar explanations.
CvS2: Can we just keep the game there? Does guilty gear get that much play? I think I saw more people play CvS2 tonight than I’ve ever seen people play GG while playing Marvel before. Turn that shit down too.
scandia will never, change there prices. we’ve tried countless times, emailing the company, talking to rulon, casey, chris the tech, countless people.

I see. I got the impression someone had pull with management there. fifty cents isn’t really that much money, but since I usually go in unwilling to spend more than I can afford that I would rather get more bang for my buck. In this sense, I personally wouldn’t be spending more money, but I figured it might make more people play who are unwilling to play because of the difficulty of playing with people who have been doing so for a while.
As far as attendance I didn’t count, but there was a good group of people grouped in the corner where the fighting games were, I would say ten would be the most, but I think it was slightly less, possibly seven.
Personally I hope they keep CvS2 in the GG machine, but turn the sound down a bit. I think I’m a tad more deaf after playing the other night.
Well, 3rd Strike is 1 quarter now. Nobody REALLY cares about Arcana… if they get it, it’ll just be another GG, with goofy anime nerds scrubbing out and nobody really taking it seriously. I’m not miffed that GG is gone but I’m 100% glad CVS2 is there now.
1/3 games being a quarter is not bad, right? Hoax, we can have a get-together and get some marvel in at anybody’s house pretty much any day of the week. I think I know what I want my team to be, too. Let me know when you can do it.
Well, I’m personally an arcade guy still… I’ve been to a few of the Fairfield peeps’ console gatherings but I’m still more comfortable standing at a cabinet, always have been, probably always will be. If Scandia’s machines hold up and people appear, I’m game to try to make a regular thing of it again.
You know I’m all about the 'cade. But I gotta get down on some Marvel practice, and I don’t own a dreamcast. Practicing chombos in a super loud, semi-costly environment is not very good for the budding MvC2 enthusiast. Gotta get some hardcore training time in.
I really wish that I found this thread sooner. I have been wanting action in Sonoma County for years. Online FPS and shit like Warcraft killed the once vibrant arcade scene in my small town. I live in Sonoma but go to school down at Cal State Fullerton so I get lots of action at FFA and AI when I’m down there.
I’m only in town for about 2 more weeks. If you guys are doing anything anytime soon I would love to get the rust worked out of my system. Haven’t played anybody all summer and it’s AUGUST now. I just get on my PS2 and work on SF2 and 3S every once in a while. I hate playing against the computer because it can build bad habits I’ve found. But let me know if anybody wants to go to Tilt (never been but would love to go) or a person’s house or arcade. I love to play different people and learn from them.
There’s usually a lot of action on Friday nights at the Rohnert Park Scandia. I haven’t been going lately due to the gf and such, but there’s also some sonoma guys on GGPO.
Is there much of a difference between 2df and GGPO? I just got 2df the other day but have yet to play because I need a converter for my ps2 stick.
GGPO’s netcodes are written specifically for their supported games while 2df just has a general code. I hear 2df is better for 3S but GGPO is better for ST and such.
Well, the main reason people say 3s “sucks” on ggpo is either their computer or their opponent’s computer can’t handle ggpo’s sync code, so it chops up on their computer.
So in turn, they blame GGPO, when(by far) it has the best netcode. Wutev.

Stopped by Scandia for a little bit today with some friends since we were in the area all day for work.
FP on 2P CVS2 is now jacked. I played a bunch of matches against a dude who wouldn’t take his loss and it started to stick really bad after the 2nd match.
LAME…not my fault
