Because I finally decided to purchase a stick now that HD remix is coming. It’s a bonus that my Xbox 360 stick works on my pc. CapnSpanky is my username. I should be on on monday.
I’m on GGPO two days early. My stick came through UPS today. I’ve been playing SSF2T and 3S all day. CapnSpanky

what kind of stick did you buy?
The Fighting Stick EX2 by Hori. It’s pretty good. I thought about modding it, but I don’t think it’s worth it to be honest.
Do you still have that Sanwa bat top Daniel?

I think I might finally start learning to play MVC2 correctly. By “correctly” I mean finally picking a legit team.
Storm, Sent, (Cyke, Iron Man, CapCom?)
How fucking sad is this… people live than 10 miles from each other and can’t even get together to play games 
I would attempt to try more get togethers or even go to Scandia more, cuurently my license is suspended so it’s hard to coax friends into going along so I can get a ride. As sad as that sounds.

I wouldn’t mind learning 3S since you Sonoma County folks play a lot of it (and are good). Is parrying essential to playing that game well?
I miss the Friday gatherings at Scandia. Whether it makes sense or not I liked that it always felt that you didn’t have to MAKE time for those Friday’s. It was just known if you were free on Friday at X time, there would be friends there playing.
Hooray for 3S. As for parrying, learning advanced parrying (like guess parrying) gives you a huge advantage. That said, I really wouldn’t worry about advanced parrying until you get used to other aspects of the game down (what punishes what, basic combos, character specific stuff, choosing a main character).
Losing to guess parrying makes me pretty sad. I have to work on my random skills.

I’ve always wanted to learn Urien or Yun. Maybe I will sometime during the summer.
Urien is a lot of fun, especially if you can charge partition. I tell people to start with Ken because he’s got a good wake up move, a good super, average life and a lot of ways to combo into super.
If you want to learn 3s, learn Ken first and you’ll get the basics of the game along with him. He’s pretty much 3s condensed into one character.
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I’m still figuring out if I should learn or not. I am still putting the time to improve my skills in CVS2 and now learning to be at least decent in MVC2. 3S seems like a game I’m going to really have to sit with.
Word up to Daniel and Tony for showing me the ropes in MVC2 today. I think I am addicted to Team Scrub, until I can learn to play Storm, Iron Man or Mags properly
