Yeah… I’m generally with Dan. I don’t want to argue about it, I just want to play. The sticks work now, so let’s play on 'em. We can always go back to kvetching about it once they’re worn out again if Scandia doesn’t fix them, but for right now they’re better than the ones at the Tilt and I’d like to play on them while they’re still like that and have actual people to play with. Hell, I don’t want to play on busted sticks either, but at the moment that’s not the case. I’ll be heading out to Portland tomorrow morning for the rest of the week to visit family, but I’ll be back next week. Go have Thursday night, just don’t ignore Friday night at Scandia and bring some MvC2 and/or ST is all I ask.
yeah… That’s what I was going to mention.
We picked Thursday for a reason. That’s to maintain Friday night possibilities. Otherwise, how would we meet new people?
And we don’t have to shy away from any back and forths. It’s not that there’s any hate going on. Just people passionate about the topic at hand.
While I feel strongly insulted by Scandia’s approach, I need people like StiltMan to provide the other point of view. There are some who are all about the arcade. I don’t think any of us would say “hey, i’d rather have a good house to meet at than a good Arcade.”
I was on the verge of forsaking Scandia for good but, then again, I did meet most everyone here there and it’d probably be counter-productive to do so. Stiltman demonstrates that if we were to move to in-house only that we’d be missing out on some competition.
I’ll still go to scandia, but I won’t be an avid supporter until they at least support us. I don’t know what everyone else has seen, but I remember going there and finding good crowds every friday and even saturday nights for a good couple months straight. and deteriorating sticks is what did it for us.
But it is a good point that since it’s fixed NOW, might as well. And maybe we can get that 3rd strike down to 25 cents where it should be. THIS time.
But let’s not be afraid of back and forths and disagreements. It’s the only way to get other points of view.
Is support the move to SFSU! Though I’m sure that won’t happen. The way I see it is the competition isn’t coming to me, so I’m going to go where the competition is. That happens to be at SFSU and Dark Symphony’s house. No matter what, though, I always count my lucky stars that even out here in ATL console land, I have competition. My friend lives in Podunk New Hampshire and has absolutely no one to play against offline when he’s at home.
No biggie. I don’t take it personally and never meant it personally.
Fridays and maybe Saturdays sounds good to me, depends, but it’s worth a shot to me. I guess I could see why some places might go to 25 cents on 3S, because a lot of places would consider it an old enough game that not enough people play to make it worth trying to get 50 cents out of them. For MvC2, though… no. I’ve literally never seen it for less than 50 in the time it’s been out, anywhere, ever. The compilation box with ST in it is 25 at Scandia, though. OTOH, houses and network play are about all there’ll be for STHD, so we’ll have to see how that goes…
That game is weird. It’s some places like SFSU and FFA can run it at 25 cents a game. At the same time it’s so popular in some places that it 50 cents isn’t considered that bad. It’s really the popularity that carries MVC2. It’s only a year older than than 3S.
3S came out in 99. MVC2 came out in 00.
It was MVC that came out in 98.
I think it’s 25 cents AT ROUNDTABLE PIZZA!
If that means anything (it doesn’t).
I’m going to play the crap out of HDR. I had a dream about it last night… it didn’t look that good. Ken had hair like Jim McCoy.
I’m glad HDR is making me interested in ST. I need more games to play (I don’t, actually. I play too many).
Word. I found a Pelican adapter out here so I’m going to try to get a PS3 over the summer for STHD and SFIV.
Alright, so everyone seems busy and some people have dropped off the face of the planet so THIS TIME I AM cancelling the meeting tonight.
IF you want to come over and play for the sake of it, you can still give me a ring. There’s just no actual official meeting…
Actually… screw that.
Let’s say there is a meeting tonight. Post or give me a ring if you want some game-age tonight.
How much? At EB/Gamestop?
Sorry for not being able to make to the last couple Thursday meetings Nick. Working at 4am Mon-Fri makes it hard as well as having classes + driving to Santa Cruz every 2 weeks.
My schedule never lets up and it’s quite annoying.
I can’t make it tonight. I’ve gotta get ready for a trip I’m taking to DC. I leave saturday so I’m packing tonight. Rivival, I’ll get you that Stick PCB next time I see you.
$15 at EB/GS Just like you said. As soon as I started asking stores, I found one.
Lucky you! Good to hear you found one. $15…I’m guessing you found a store that still had them new?
I already have one but I am randomly checking EB/Gamestop’s I go to for another. T5DR demands it (as well as Battle Fantasia JPN in May)
anyone showing up tonight?
Man… what happened to… everything? A couple good arrangements and suddenly everything died out.
Suck central.
707 is a bunch of HOWARDS.
Okay, I’m back in town. I’ll be at Scandia on Friday night again, and I ought to be there a little earlier this time. I have a choice to geek out on Battlestar at 10 if nobody shows up or see the 12:30 rerun if they do, so be there or be square.
i’ll try and show on friday night. probably around 9 and 10
Oh, and kind of funny, but Buffalo Billiards in Cotati has a sit down Capcom vs SNK 1 cabinet. thats the problem though, its part 1 (they have beatmania as well:woot:. oh well, gogogogogogogg
just to let everyone know whats going on, Tony was in a car accident this past weekend. No injuries involved, everyone is safe. But his car is DONE.
