I just want you to stop making bad posts and calling people scrubs etc. seems like every post you’ve made on these forums is complaining about shoto players. you don’t seem like a bad guy outside of that so it seems to me you could stick around and contribute useful things besides that.
yeah there’s a lot of shotos online. if that’s all you said “I wish people played more characters” no one would’ve had beef. but you’ve posted in like 5 different topics shitting on people you don’t even know. meanwhile making it sound like you’re this amazing 3s player or whatever. I’m just saying, come with a different attitude. if it’s a bad shoto player, beat them and move on. if it’s a good one, play them more and learn what you can. same as with any other character.

So I decided to go back a couple of pages to see what you guys are arguing about and I see this video. Just letting you know I almost spilled my coffee in the start of the 2nd round when Hugo starts the match whiffing s.rk and gets SA3 punished.

played 360 and PSN back to back today, maybe 15 games each? man, what a difference. when I said “PSN is better but not enough to make a huge difference” I was on crack. I was comparing it to CPS3 I guess. compare PSN right now to XBL and it is a completely different planet. you can see dashes. you can see UOH startup. you can parry divekicks. you can play actual footsies. you can tech throws on good connections.
it’s not offline by any stretch. but I think it’s the best online we’ve seen. CPS3 > offline console > OE after patch > GGPO >> OE before patch IMO. I only hope 360 version comes without the nasty glitches and freezes plaguing PS3 right now.
I see a difference in the playerbase too. all I saw on 360 the last few days minus like five players was all lag gimmicks. PSN I saw a lot less silliness in general. kinda what I was thinking before, that the netcode caused the current state of the XBL playerbase, not some innate failure of the players themselves. they’ve just been working with what they were given. maybe I’m overstating this because of the direct comparison but man. the patch did a lot for this netcode.
Something’s wrong with the PSN side replay bank.
L2 and R2 don’t go to the right places and you might end up on someone’s username replays only by that guy for some reason.

on another note, it’s sad that people take stuff like gamer points and online leaderboards seriously. you know playing and placing in SBO or EVO would deserve recognition but this is still a VIDEO GAME! there’s way more impressive stuff out there in life then this “gamer” shit.

Chest beating / wind-pissing aside, the updates live now for X360.
ok played for about 1.5 hours or something with the new update on xbl. definitely smoother and better now but there are some problems. while waiting for my turn in spectator the match froze and then said something like, “the player has left the game” and then i was the only one in the lobby. this happened twice and neither player looked like they rage quit. it was just out of the blue. another time it froze the game during the countdown before a match. music keeps playing but visually frozen.
during gameplay, i would get these hiccups similar to input delay style netcode every now and then. they’d last like 3-4 seconds sometimes and i thought that it froze or was desynced but then would continue like normal. i experienced very few warps but they’re still there. lastly, the ping would change drastically. at first i was fighting people in the 70-80 range but after about 5 minutes their ping jumped to like 150-180.
this was with 0 delay in options and no filters or scan lines. overall i like it much better than the previous version but it did come with some new baggage.

glad to see so many people playing at this late hour. since the pings were low enough most of the time, i assume most were from NA region. hope this extends the life of the game and brings in those who lost interest when the first shitty ggpo implemented version of OE came out.
All the player names on the saved replays are gone.
I was sticking with the non patched version, started the game and stayed on before the update, wondering why the only guy out there to matchup with was JinMugen.
There was an auto sign out/“You have to update,” but I wanted to delete and keep a few replays. An old one had an invisible 12 the whole match.
Same thing with the replay channel now as on PSN. But now it finds nothing. The first menu says: INVALID
Invalid->Overall->Mine->Friends
By the time you get to FRIENDS you can’t toggle left and right between them and its NO ENTRIES FOUND (B) to backout only.
Instead of back to the main menu or that 2nd one under multiplayer after a Ranked match
It auto throws you into the searches like PSN.
testing out PSN version. playable up to maybe 200ms without too much frame skipping? my tolerance is a little high though. 175 seemed fine, comparable to 100-150 on GGPO. playing YSH_hunter right now who had 250ms but the connection was better than the 175 one…so i guess its very dependent on connection stability/clarity moreso than the actual ping (which is also prevalent on GGPO).
the high pitched voices are annoying as fuck though.
