I played against MuralTag for like two hours on Monday and uploaded several videos - three of us playing our mains (Akuma and Ken), one Akuma mirror, one Ken mirror, and a couple of Akuma vs. Makoto. Most of them are either intense, hard fought matches, or hilarious. Not going to embed them all here, but they’re on the 3SOE XBL channel, so just search for Poe22222 MuralTag1286.

My first ever match (I’m the Chun), seriously the lag is awful, I couldn’t even tell what I was doing 90% of the time
And when I DID get a good connection, they turned out to be SSF4 scrubs who kicked me out the lobby when I killed them to death
I need some help figuring something out.

So I played this dude (I’m the Ryu, he’s the Akuma) and afterwards he sent me a message that said “nice lag tactics buddy.” I said “what” and he said “that win was bullshit.” I asked why and haven’t gotten a response since then. can someone point out what I was doing that was offensive? that’s pretty much how I play Ryu offline so I’m not sure what that was about. I do have a couple horrible wakeup DPs in there that I’m not proud of, but I don’t think he got hit by any of that.
fair warning: I am not good at Ryu. I’m pretty bad, actually! so don’t watch expecting good shit. my Ryu still needs a lot of work.
You’re better than him. Tha’s pretty offensive.
meh, it’s always the shitty players that send messages accusing people of lag tactics. anybody good doesn’t really care that much. be careful of doing sweeps that aren’t max spaced. btw jumping over the fireball right at the beginning was a golden opportunity to take 40% plus big stun. try to react to those situations. you hadn’t committed to anything yet, but then only did j.mk. also wakeup moves aren’t even lag abuse. they’re just… not a great habit in general.
alright cool, and thanks for the advice. I definitely can use the help!
with those sweeps, are they safe at max range but not anywhere else? I know when I play Chun and I see shoto cr rh whiff I can just super it but I’m not sure how it works on closer ranges.
way too much sweep, excessive air tatsu, punishing a couple wiffed dp with a fireball then a throw, just stick’n out far HP all over the place as if its totally safe, TERRIBLE corner control and my personal pet peeve - dumb shit lag tactic use of lk tatsu >:(
he may have been accusing you of lag tactics with the red fireballs and the super chip kill at the end… maybe… but from what I can tell from this one game, as others have said, pay no attention to his salty bullcrap.
Only thing I noticed is that you did Super at the end of round 1, he blocks, and he tries to punish with SA1 and you mashed out SRK. I’m pretty sure Akuma can punish that SA1 because it’s a free punish but he should’ve done crMK into whatever.
oh yeah, that mashed out DP. I don’t even remember doing that! definitely not one of my finer moments.
with the EX fireballs, I threw them out with the expectation that they’d get either blocked or parried, and either way I could dash a few times and close the space. because I hate chasing that style of Akuma player across the stage back and forth. I was surprised that he got hit by them.
Hey, I know this isn’t the right place to post, but you know. I just wanted to put my name out there. I’ve contacted a few of you over xbl and it’s so nice to have a warm response.
Anyway, my XBL tag is oo Waggs oo and I am really looking forward to playing some of you. I have experience with most characters, but will 95% of the time play at Dudley unless I feel like messing around. Also, I suck. I wouldn’t even consider myself average, but if you guys are willing to put up with me, I’m so down to learn and get feedback. I really want to learn and improve.
I’ve already gotten my ass handed to me by most of you I’m sure. I think Poe22222 and I have played once or twice, and I had some fun games with NoMoreFunland. Both of you are great, and I reaaaaalllllly got killed by hjap. I was happy when I scrubbed a round from the short set.
I’ll be sure to post of video or two so you guys can make fun of how awful I am. I have one of myself and NoMoreFunland, but it involves me winning, and I feel it doesn’t do justice to the short set we have where he ended up winning most.
Thanks, feel free to add me.
XBL : oo Waggs oo
So just post the video and make sure you mention that it doesn’t represent the set you had with me when you post it. Online matches are just for kicks anyway. Keep on hitt’n up the decent folks on 3sOE and keep learn’n.
p.s. hjap is a big sandbagger. he may be mess’n wit ya, lol.

Hey NoMoreFunland, I just wanted to make sure you wouldn’t be pissed. It’s all I saved. Also, you mentioned me playing sf4 in a message, which I did play for a while. I did, however, play 3s since 2005. I was the young scrub of this forum. Now, Im just the older scrub.
I have more recent matches from playing Daze8787 and xXxDaRagexXx. Both are really good.
I enjoyed playing Daze because he is a really aggressive player, so it made me have to think and react quickly to his Ibuki and Ken.
xXxDaRagexXx is just xXxRagexXx. We had some good matches, he kicked my butt for the most part. God damn Kara Demon. His Remy is really incredible to play against, I always enjoy that matchup.
Ill post those matches soon. Id like some feedback since I feel that I jump in a lot, and I know thats a no no. But after watching some matches by players like VicoLy and such, I see that they jump in with Dudley as well. Idk I see it as a semi-decent gap closer. Since he has some solid target combos, its pretty cool to mix up with. Please critic my play, and don’t be too too harsh
This first match is against some random, I sorta have to be critical of myself. I think I tend to rely on counter, and what not instead of making the player react to me. I had moments to punish, but I had little jabs instead of hitting with some standing HK into ex machine-gun blow. Also, my execution was awful.

This match is against NoMoreFunland, and it doesn’t really show how the rest of the set went. I wish I had the other games. He kicked my butt, but I’d like to think I was able to hold my own. Again, I think I need to be able to rush down more effectively and not let up pressure. I think I tend to put a guy under heavy pressure and then back off for some reason. Idk. You guys can tell me.

Thanks for any tips or critics you may have.
I was being way too reckless with HK, far standing and sweep. Yeah that was bad play on my part. Wish I could see the other matches to gauge this one.
Don’t know much about Dudley but his jump arc does seem to give you less time to react (or something) than many of the others.
hjap: give this guy some advice. You’re Dud was no dud.
Yeah, like I said before, my bad because I know the other matches had a lot more depth to them. We’ll definitely have to have a set or two. I really like playing your Akuma
As for Hjap. I was freaking fumbling all over the place. Random machine-gun blows coming out and everything. I was definitely not focused. He’s really good, so he just beat the hell out of me.
I’ll add you Waggs, but I live in Alaska and got some Fisher Price internet, so our connection may not be the greatest thing.
I play Chun Ken Elena Ryu and Makoto, in about that order of quality. I am bad at all of them though!
Hey, send me a friend request. I have finals right now, but will be all said and done by Wednesday night. Maybe we can get some sets in then!

The wind of the Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi can change the tides of battle and blow the fires of victory back in your face.
Even at full screen wiffing normals can be dangerous.
Super old footage of my terrible Elena (going through my old videos my execution looks pretty poor). I haven’t been playing much since kof13 dropped but I’m slowing going back to playing 3s regularly. Advice would be appreciated.

This match is bad but didn’t find any high ranked people
