The 3rd Strike Online Edition Video Thread

This isn’t a great match but there’s some hilarious comeback nonsense at the end of the first round.

That’s a problem for everyone for sure. I don’t know a lot about chun-li so I can’t give any specific insight. As for general 3S gameplay though…

Consider the use of moves with good frame advantage and quick start-up. For pretty much all characters this should be jab for sure and short. Used along with all your other moves they will allow you to create new openings. A lot of building offense in 3S is about misdirection and punishing.

You do use those and overall you play without doing a lot of spazzing or guessing or anything. also its a matter of knowing the spacing very well. because then you can abuse whiffs and punish a wider range of ‘accidents’ that you force the other player to make. It’s hard to make other players screw up when you’re sitting across the screen so probably you should work on just being close to your opponent. You’ll notice in a lot of higher level matches that both players tend to stay relatively close to the other. It depends on character but even a character like Chun benefits from staying on top of her opponent.

Why couldn’t Capcom allowed Xbox users to post to their own youtube accounts, like PS3 can? I can’t even highlight the option to render it anymore due to me trying to render it earlier, when I had no idea there was no channel to render to.

Here’s one for shitty Akuma players

How did you keep falling for the FP Red Fireball, Dashup, Throw?

So I tried to upload some replays while the xbox youtube channel was inactive, and of course they never showed up. Now I’m trying to upload those again and the game won’t let me? wtf?

People getting used to parrying always fall for it. Just block the last hit, or parry the first two and Super through(easier than the first hit imo).

Cause I’m bad.

Oh. Ok, then.

I feel I played well in this video.

My opponent hits a manly Seiei Enbu combo in R1 @ 0:15
I miss a opportunity to spend meter @ 0:44
Footsies @ 1:54

This is me using Elena and getting an A+!!

<3

Congrats on the A+ I guess, but god that Akuma couldn’t block for shit.

He was kinda on top of me for a while there until it looked like he gave up for some reason =/
It’s not easy getting A+ with Elena so I’m really happy with it.

Just forget you even have rhino horn aside from ex and as part of a combo.

It is suicide against a decent player.

Work on punishes. wheres jwang he knows some elena stuff.

edit: 1der i like that your super gauge isn’t full at the end of that match

I never use the Rhino Horn’s as much because I know if the opponent blocks I’m going to get punished a lot for it. So I tend to shy away from using it.

In player matches I use it a bit if I know the player isn’t half decent, if he’s like one of those who has no idea what the hell he’s doing. But the EX is better I agree.

I think gorgeouspimp1 sent me a PSN message to me with another PSN saying he owns me, unless someone knows who VEGITOAKUMA is.

I play 3s on the side and enjoy playing this game regardless of how good or bad I am. Uploading a good ranked match that I play once a week is simply just a video series for my Youtube. Funny how some people get offended. Wanna get at me? Play me in MvC2

Vegitokuma just mashes all day, hoping online usual crap will work.
Block and wait until shoryu > you win.

The thing is I’ve never even played anyone with his PSN, and he sends me the message saying he owns me LOL.

At least now I know he’s from 3SO. He can be proud that he owns me in a game I don’t even main. Chances are I’d probably still beat him with basic Chun tactics.

Eventhough it’s not my best match, I know my Chun needs work.
