The 2nd KOFXII Thread (debuting at AM Show in September)

You’re an idiot. The game isn’t even out – wait, the game is STILL BEING DEVLOPED. It’s not like it’s going to play like SF or GG. People are still going to play it like KoF. MIRA is a whole different kind of animal.

DD has a point…a lot of the stuff Musolini praised is already in the Maximum Impact series. Crazy rushdown, multiple super bars, multiple supers, severe fear of punishment from missed moves…

Yet another underrated series.

Maybe SF4 can get people to rethink their stance on 2D games with 3D graphics…games like KOF 2006 and MIRA.

By the way, the zoom out is crazy in KOF XII. Keep away characters are going to have a field day. Literally. An entire frickin’ FIELD.

I can see Leona being pretty good with her backwards run, besides of her other stuff that looks nice too.

I’m really happy that that rushdown super merged. I was kind of worried that the CC thing would be the only way to make supers merge. That vest tug to upper-cut was godlike.

Thanks for strengthening my point even further. Do you even play KoF or do you just slap your balls against the stick in hopes that something will happen? What I was saying was that it’s still classic KoF and people are still going to use most of the same tactics that make it KoF. If you don’t like this game, then you don’t like KoF.

Here are the changes in this loketest 85% complete version:

first off, power gauge:
1- when your power gauge gets full it stays full for a few seconds and then starts to drain until it reaches zero (around 10 seconds)
2- u can use your DM only once!! but you can CC as much as you want without losing your maximum state, you lose your power gauge only when you use a DM (DMing a CC consumes your power gauge)
3- u can never start a round with a maximum state (NEVER!!) even if you finish your opponent and when u finished him you got your max power you will lose it in the next round!!

DM:
1- when a character pulls off a DM, a small flash and the time stops for a second (including the opponent).
2- all of the DMs got faster and some characters can connect DM in normal combos but not all!!
3- it is easier to catch your opponent in a DM for some characters now but some are still difficult.

CC (critical counter):
1- u must be in maximum state to be able to use it.
2- (while in maximum state) when u stand and hit with a strong punch or kick (even if you are hitting the air) your character’s punch or kick will be glowing yellow color, that indicates that this punch or kick is a CC starter (in case the opponent didn’t notice you are in maximum state he can figure you are by this).
3- your strong punch or kick will glow yellow even in the middle of a combo, but the difference is that after this punch or kick you can connect another basic attack (as for terry in maximum state C->C+D->power knuckle -check my P1000033 video-) which can not be pulled in normal state
4- the weakness in this strong punch or kick is that if you dont start a CC with it (including hitting the air) this character will be open for a second (recovery time is slow, like if you hit a blocking (guarding) charcter with it you will be open for a dwn+D or an upper cut and stuff)
5- now when you pull off a CC both characters freeze for a while it is easy to tell you are in CC now, but still not enough time to think what to pull off unless you have it already in mind.
6- if both characters are in maximum state, one fell on the ground for being hit, the other approaches him, when the falling character stands up, they both hit with a strong punch or kick to CC each the other, the one just got up he will be CCed, the character that just got up from the ground his strong punch or kick won’t glow yellow but the other character that was standing from the beginning his strong punch or kick will glow, and that’s why he owned him!!
7- never seen 2 yellow glowing punch or kick, so i can’t tell what would happen.

I got to play the loc test.

It’s another KOF game to me. It looks pretty. I wasn’t able to do anything fancy. It felt pretty fast to me, but I still suck at KOF games, so aside from liking the graphics and the speed, I didn’t really think too much of it. It’s nothing revolutionary IMO, but I guess current KOF fans will like it since it doesn’t seem to stray too far from the formula.

On video P1000034 from cyberfanatix at 00:23 Iori does a nasty CC combo to Athena.

I think KOF: MIRA is fun as hell, but that’s no reason to bash KOF XII. Wait until the fucking game comes out, jesus.
