Be real homie, 20 is fine. Do you know how long it takes to make characters from scratch? It will grow as more KOFs are released. Just be lucky they decided to redraw them.
People like a large cast in KOF. Sure there are a ton of characters they won’t bring back. 20 bugs people because they are used to 20+ characters in KOF. Like I said before I expected the roster to be small. I was expecting 21-24 characters that’s it.
And I did say “don’t sweat it.” “Let’s see what happens in KOFXIII.” I pretty much said what you said already.
Twenty is kind of low for a three on three fighter, but I am fine with that. What they have been showing so far has been fantastic looking.

Uhm, how many characters SF3 series started with? About 11? Starting with 20 characters (+ obviously there will be boss character(s)) is pretty much for a high res and high frame rate sprited game.
Latest edition of the GGXX series had about 25 chars, but they’re doing those updates since 2000. 7-8 years, right? KOFXII is developed since 3 years, and it will have close to the same ammount of chars as last Guilty Gear, and possibly with better quality sprites, and you saying that 20 is just too few?

I’m really hoping for K’, but I wouldn’t be suprised if he’s not in the game. Unfortunetly, K’ and his team doesn’t have a part in the main storyline of this “Ash Saga”. Still, K’ as a single entry, wouldn’t be bad…

LOL at all the people complaining about the “small” character selection. Really, how many brand new 2D fighters had more than 20 characters right from the start? Not many. SFIV has 3d graphics and has less characters. Look at Blazblue. I’d also like at least 24 characters, but come on.
As for the “parry”, it kinda looks like a hybrid between a traditional CD counter and a Blitzkampf parry. Button input, parry -> canned attack, you get chip damage… doesn’t sound really bad atm. We also still have to see if it costs meter or not.

just because the select screen didn’t line up in teams doesn’t mean people aren’t in teams this year (obviously they are it’s just the characters to fill up the teams aren’t complete)
