Man, this game has moments where it looks totally unreal. Its still obviously a work in progress though. Clashing looks kind of bad, I can’t really express why; maybe the pause is too long.

Ash vs. Kyo and Terry vs. Robert vids are good, at least there’s some actual gameplay going on. Its still terrible, but its something.

Maybe we havent see the true potential of this game.
I need to see good players playing this test version.

Ryo/Robert looks like a lot like their classic AOF version. Ryo also has the same fight stance as he had in AOF3.

ok ok i agree about the sprite and the 20 character but i still say its bullshit cuz everybody is so use to have a big as variety of characters when it comes to kof so yeah i want more but if means more characters and shitty graphics ill take 20 over a 100

Well, I’m sure there will be more characters in XIII, and I’m also sure about that we have to wait for it less then the time we waited for XII. :wink:

Yeah i was suprised at the small roster but i guess this is a new start or test for SNKP… and why cant their ever be good players at a loke test??

Yeah , World Warrior, Samsho 3 and SFIII:NG were PERFECTLY balanced, and GGAC and KOF98UM have horrendous balance.

Yeah, you can argue later revisions, but more characters does NOT mean better balance.

i mean lets face it, in these kof games you have a ton of characters but you only use like 10-15 anyway, because thats how many that are actually viable.

if they are going to spend a shit ton to reanimate sprite, they probably want to make it fucking count. if i’m gonna spend 6 months and 2000 dollars reanimating an athena or a leona then you’d better fucking WANT TO USE THEM haha.

i find that going from 40ish characters to 20 is a good sign that they want to at the very least make everyone viable somewhat.

I’d never think that I would be excited about [media=youtube]RvnSQhv32e8&fmt=18]muhfuckin sparkle effects in a game. Thick Athena is where its at. Believe that shit. That Shining Crystal Bit makes me proud to be an Athena player. And with more vids I watch the more I see the attention to detail that this game possesses. Finally seeing Ralf in action and now knowing he aint missing a beat even with his new girth.Ash and Kyo never cease to entertain me. Those flame effects look so sexy in motion. And everything that Robert does has a flame effect. He did that Ura Ken and I was just floored. All that’s left is too see some vids of some cats clowning and I’ll be straight. And I don’t know if anyone else has peeped this out but 12 might be a Dream Match title. Seeing as they dropped the Shift System like a bad habit and went back to 3 on 3 classic mode. This game may be nothing but a test to see what they can do in the new style before they close the book on the Tales of Ash Saga.

20 its a good number, common people with all the work that snk its putting on it, it would be hard to get a roster over 30 like the previos kof and put this game on april at the same time

Maybe now with a smaller character roster, we won’t have 15+ characters playing almost exactly the same.

400-600 frames per character is roughly on par with SF3 series (some characters like 450, while others had up to 750; but I forget who lies on which end of the scale).

20 characters at that level of animation is the equivalent of making 3S from scratch, so when you consider it took Capcom about 4-5 years to get to that point, this isn’t too bad I guess. Still sucks compared to your usual KoF fare, but it’s unavoidable unless they want to push the game back even more.

There’s no need to keep stating it, but those players are absolutely horrible. I know it’s too much to expect every Japanese beta player to be SBO-quality level (unless you’re Emil), but they could AT LEAST try to show off the game as much as possible.
I wanted to see if Kim still had his Triple Crunch. I also wanted to see what Ralf’s SAB would look like but the guy didn’t even try to throw ONCE.

with many, many animations recycled on all the specials, supers, and in other chars, so, no, sf3 series its not that impressive :confused:

Usually when rosters are pared down, it’s the more freakish chars that go. Then again, it looks like SNK kept some.

Since SNK is going to be recycling these sprites like mad, I think by KOFXIII you’ll see a lot more chars.
If SNK had made a 40 char KOFXII, what’s next?
