Well long as this is a causal convo then FUCK YOU! Happy posting.
still the game is 100% 2D SPRITES unlike SFIV
I think I posted this before
deja vu!?
haha, all in good fun.
No, of course not. It’s completely impossible to make 3D models animate at the same speed as 2D sprites, and apply the same hitboxes as before. The game can’t run at the same speed, or play exactly the same, all because of this. All advances in programming made in the last three decades are for naught.
Using 3D models for reference does not mean they didn’t make each character pixel by pixel. These are not painted over models, that would imply something like clever shading.
Are you for real? Do you honestly believe this?
All I know is that I like to play games where I get to hit people a lot and in different ways. This game promises that, so 2D, 2.5 or 3D, as long as it ain’t fucking 4D and plays decently I’ll get my kicks in and be happy.
A-freakin’-men.
Now back to the game at hand; Sorry if this has been asked before, but has anyone noticed if there are super cancels in the game?
As far as costumes go, wouldn’t it be cool if Iori had Freeman’s (Mark of the Wolves) outfit?
No one knows.
No. He’s showing enough stomach already. He isn’t Benimaru and this isn’t King of Male Model Fighters.
Nothing so far, though the game would be buffed drastically if there was. Whether it costs or not.
Quick ? involvong the KOF story.
Since Iori has now lost his flames, wouldn’t that mean the effects of the Yagami blood stop. (ROTB mode, short life span, wanting to kill Kyo though he never will)
Most likely. But him wanting to fight/kill Kyo isn`t related to him being Yagami, not anymore anyway.
Werent there a link to gameinformer
s(or was that other mag) scans where it was fully explained how they made those models?
Does kof xii still have 2 ko/knockdown poses for the characters (face-up/face-down) like most of the other kof games? I always loved that.
Did you even watch a single video of XII? Seriously.
(yes, of course there are)
Oh, Kyo can still shoot fire. Just in case you were also curious about that.
I missed the recent vids (too little time on my hands). As much as I want this game, the last vids I watched were from when Duolon, Joe and New Kensou were introduced.
Yeah. Game Informer’s info shows how stupid are all the kids saying they just “traced over” 3D models.
With OnLive, maybe we’ll get KOFXII on PC after all.
I might be a tad behind but have you guys seen the new lok test…too good can wait!

How is athena in KOFXII? Man i love her psycho balls…
I think this’ll come down to some huge showdown between Iori and Ash. Winner gets to get into KOFs that aren’t dream matches and keeps their flames.
PS. I REALLY hope Iori doesn’t suck without flames, because he’s one of my best characters…
Ugh…I really hate to say it, but aside from the objectively gorgeous animation, I am having a very hard time getting hype for KOF XII.
SF4 seemed kind of iffy to me at first, too, but as I followed it on YouTube during the loke test and after the Japanese arcade release, it really won me over. This game really seems to be having the opposite effect on me – the more I see of it, the less excited I get, and I say this as a guy who was a KOF guy a lot longer than he was a Street Fighter guy.
This game really seems like it’s more of a test balloon for the new art assets than anything else. They seem to have poured so much energy into making the new animation and such that in addition to the cast trimming, most of the people who made it in have been kind of lobotomized, and only a handful of the cast seem more interesting to me than they were in previous titles. (Leona, Athena, and Raiden look all right…Ralf and Clark look decent but it’s hard to get past how fucking huge they are…Ash looks powerful but I can’t really stomach playing as him…Kyo looks boring as shit…new Iori seems to have been lobotomized, even though I never really liked Iori)
The game’s pace seems awfully sluggish, too. The new clash/Critical Counter systems are okay, but general poking/zoning just looks awfully plodding for KOF’s historically grueling pace. Maybe it’s just the quality of the loke test play, but this game doesn’t seem to have nearly the energy in zoning, poking, and general RTSD that other titles had. '98 UM/2k2 UM are a lot more exciting to me in that regard, and if I want a “slower” game, SF4 is undoubtedly the superior experience in that regard.
Mostly, I just hope this game IS just a test balloon, and will make SNK enough money to do a REAL KOF with KOF XIII. Unless something in XII really jumps out at me, I honestly don’t think I’ll like it. I’ll give it a fair shot when it comes out, but I don’t expect much.
