The 2nd KOFXII Thread (debuting at AM Show in September)

Nah, just in design… Too much loli, too little badassery to be a true girl-K’.
What’s Kulas role in the storyline, is she some kind of anti-K clone/weapon or what?

So, just how badass is K’? Well, his bios states(as far as I can remember):
Hates: KOF tournament
Fighting Style: Violence
’nuff said. :coffee:

Yeah, i’ve been with SNK since the Ikari Warrior days, and i can confirm that people thought Kyo was gay-looking, then Iori was gay-looking, then K’ (this one got some people crazy angry) then Ash and Duo.

I’ve mentioned this many, many times before… Falcoon did NOT create Ash, Duo or Shen. He only did the official art. All three were created by SNK’s in-house designers. Falcoon only worked in character design in the MI series!

Gee, I’m sorry, I must’ve missed the rule that stated I have to have played ff1.

And for the record, yes I have but like I stated earlier I could care less

the characters in kofxii don’t look anything like falcoon’s style. their clothes however…

Shen? Shen looks badass. No way you can look at Shen’s clothes and even begin to think Falcoon.

yeah…out of those three…Shens design is quite tolerable…

…Maximum Impact, on the other hand…

(Does anyone even know where to get Falcoons old art?)

Yeah, man, K DASH is such a deep character. He’s so awesome.

No one likes K DASH except for Americans. People in Japan don’t even acknowledge his existence. Krizalid was an awesome boss and K DASH was just a freaking watered down copy of him that played like Kyo. He wasn’t even important in 99. It’d make no sense in keeping him around. Besides, there are thousands of other characters with uppercuts.

Yeah, and thank god for that.

This makes no sense to me…

First, everyone with an uppercut plays exactly like Kyo now? :looney:
They share one move, and not even that is the same seeing as K can do that optional kick at the end…

Second, what do I care what the americans or the japanese think about a character? I am not an american, and I do not worship japanese opinion as godlike.

Did my over-zealous K-pushing create som sort of kneejerk anti reaction in you? Even though he is a favorite of mine, I was mostly kidding around you know…

And as a final note, I’d like an investigation to see if there actually is “thousands” of uppercut characters if you look at all fighting games ever made combined.

I always thought K was pretty bland but I understand why hes popular over here

Good job on taking things way out of context. His playstyle even resembles Kyo’s as well. Or have you not played against a good Kyo and K DASH?

Neither do I, but every half assed KoF fan just LOVES K DASH for some fucking reason. He’s based off of a Daraku Tenshi character FFS.

And who said I wasn’t? Sorry if you like bland characters, but I guess you’re the one that’s at a loss if you buy the whole “LOST HIS MEMORY AND WAS EXPERIMENTED ON BY SOME STRANGE COMPANY” bullshit story that everyone has heard a thousand times. He’s not an original character in the least. K DASH is a clone of a clone of a clone of a clone of a clone, etc. Also, please don’t compare Vanessa to K DASH. I actually like Vanessa :frowning:

‘Shotoclone’.

Mai’s alt. costume was great so he’s forgiven.

Did they make the AAs not clash with air attacks or is it just that the players didn’t manage to make them clash?

Alright, some news on XII (I know, I’m hella late)
Just didn’t care abou XII until I was sure when it might be out.

I WANT MY MOTW TERRY BACK!!

AGAIN…

From the 1st loke test someone on the dev team didn’t like that clashes happened so often. It’s assumed(or I assume) something was done about that.

Clashing is all about timing and hitboxes.

Wait…wasn’t Kula supposed to be the “anti-K’”?

Yep…Zero fuckin’ calls her EXACTLY THAT in KoF 2000, her first in game appearance.

The clashing seems to be still there but doesn’t happen as often as before, which is a good thing. I’m liking the direction it’s going so far just a few more tweaks and it should be all ready.

we need yamazaki back. original as can be, the guy has a bad ass style in gameplay, bad ass story behind him and a total bad ass in design. theres a reason the best kofs have yamazaki in them… i forgot about 2k3, my bad.

Rock Howard needs to make a playable appearance in KOF for once

Beat me to it. Of course, it’s not like they went far developing the dynamic within the story afterward. But then, that’s kinda what happens when an outside developer brought onboard introduces a Tetsuo-ripoff as an unnecessary rival who winds up getting retconned years down the line anyway…seriously, fuck K9999, I’m glad he’s gone (provided Nameless’ backstory isn’t as retarded, I won’t care either way about him).

^
I actually liked K9999, if only because of the bits that ripped off Tetsou like the drill arm and white screen super that I could never pull off.

Damn son, that is a lot of K’ hate you got there.

But seriously, the only way you can say Kyo plays similar to K’ is if you refer to the fact that they both have flames and in certain games Kyo has a fireball. But if you link that, then you might as well link Iori as a clone of Kyo who is a mimics Terry and Ryo and Andy and all the other characters with projectiles, anti air and kick specials that can travel across the screen.

Seriously the two are not night and day different and you summed up his storyline pretty accurately but your hate got you misjudging the actual game it self. K’ trigger and follow up moves are what differentiate him albeit slightly.
