Gave up Bledsoe for Greg Monroe and a 1st-rounder (most likely in the late teens/early twenties). Bucks keep Brogdon, Maker, etc. They couldn’t even get Tony Snell.
LOL. This is what happens when you kill the market for your own player.
What’s funny is that Suns fans were really enamored with Monroe a couple years back.
I’ll take it, Bledsoe’s value was tanking fast with how well we were playing without him. We probably could have gotten more if Bledsoe didn’t decide to be a bitch and publicly tweet his dissent.
Really shocked they didn’t get brogden… maybe the suns didn’t want to the a bad bucks contract to make it work. No way maker would have been included in any trade for bledsoe. Bucks guys are really high on him.
Or they could bring Bledsoe off the bench and let him run with that second unit. Because that second unit needs scoring badly. They might finally stop playing Giannis 40 minutes a game.
The Suns learned the hard way that Bledsoe is not a great distributor so bringing him off the bench for easy points would probably be best. Otherwise he’s going to take chances that would be better suited for Greek Freak.
Same problem Okafor had*, his game doesn’t translate well to today’s pace. He’s primarily a back-to-the-basket player and though he has a shot, he doesn’t have 3-pt range.
*I’m convinced Okafor’s offseason work and how he dramatically changed his body will make him much more accustomed to running the floor. He’s also extending his range.
Monroe has that golden ticket in the NBA for teams.
A large contract that expires after this season. Pretty much the most valuable asset if you are in tank mode. He could land them another pick or young asset for a budding contender around deadline time or they can just save money (most likely scenario for the suns)
Like someone else said earlier, this is undisputedly Devin Booker’s team now and the Suns should commit to building around him and do everything they can to make sure he stays by giving him the max deal. Len right now is finally playing like the starter that the Suns wanted him to be when they drafted him Top 5, and TJ Warren is developing into a legit #2 option. You can tell these kids are sick of losing and the media calling them a joke again and again: yeah they fell back below .500 but the way they’re losing now vs how they were losing when Bledsoe was their leader is night and day.
