Huh. Thats interesting considering he pretty much was the driving factor to them beating the packers (ran for 181, threw for 263) and the falcons in 2012 playoffs and the panthers in 2013.
Meanwhile, Cutler has been surrounded with talent almost his entire career and it’s accounted for the grand total of 1 playoff victory and bunch of broken failures along the way. He’s been the driving force to their failures in the playoffs (the one time they got there under him) and the regular season.

Kaepernick requires an entirely different gameplan than Cutler does. Cutler is a more typical in the pocket passer while kaep is an in the pistol take off and run QB. They are not ingerchangeable and requires a lot of work to do when the season starts in 2 weeks. That’s just a recipe for disastor

Kaepernick would work with the Jaguars, he’s best in zone-read systems that want to run the ball which the Jaguars do. People forget how live Kaepernick’s arm is as well, he has an S tier cannon. You’ve got guys like Allen Robinson he could use in Jacksonville to take advantage of them loading the box.

Kaep isn’t a top 10 QB but in the right situation might easily be a top 32 and should be a starter for some low level teams and better backup than almost every team has. Its a crap shoot if he ever plays this game again and thats the real travesty because despite his stance he has 100% put his money where his fucking mouth is.
Kaep turned down the seattle position. Not many coaches are comfortable saying his head is 100% in the game either
Name one low level team outside of Jacksonville that he should be a starter for WITHOUT IGNORING CONTEXT. Yes, he’s a Top 32 QB. But not once has a top 32 ability guaranteed a starting job in the league.
There are 3 teams he could play 4 and 2 of them are going tank mode
He’s better than some QB situations and not a lot worse than others. He’s an upgrade over all but maybe one of the backup situations in the league though.
Then he needs to be immensely open in the public and say “I’m willing to take a backup position”.
He doesn’t need to do that in public.
I like how the Owners tried to blacklist Kaep in hopes of shutting down other players to protest but it has caused more players to protest instead.

Ultimately I think the Jags are going to sign him. I can see the League pressuring them to do so if they don’t take the plunge willingly themselves. They need someone to fall on the landmine and who better than the Jags that they don’t have to worry about.
