Oh I think he sucks, but I don’t think he sucks worse than fucking Bortles so you might as well bring in the guy who will actually bring eyeballs to your product.
The Jags will have plenty of cut targets, and again, if you aren’t winning much, but aren’t losing enough to be able to tank effectively, the goal should be ticket sales at this point. Just bring in Kaep for the circus, everything else be damned.
No, that’s EXACTLY the type of player you bring in. The alternative is, you do nothing and accept you’re in the worst possible spot you could be for an NFL team. Not good enough to make the playoffs but not bad enough to get a truly good draft spot, in a bad market with absolutely no media relevance.
nah, i think you overestimate henne and bortles skill as a qb. we all know kaep isnt a great qb, but he is better and offers more options with his running ability than henne or bortles.
Kaep would be nice in Jacksonville. I think he could actually get something out of those weapons in Jacksonville where Bortles most likely can’t get any good production out of them
When he first protested I thought he was just doing it so the Niners wouldn’t cut him in fear of being painted as bigots, but enough is enough already. I would take Kaep any day over losers like Geno Smith, Chad Henne, or any of the jabronis that make up the Bears and Browns’ QB corps.
Cutler doesnt require an entire rework of an offensive gameplan to function. Kaep also has been a 1st read and take off guy. That team that went to the superbowl was loaded ay every facet to the point where he was probably the weakest point of the team.
He’s got a controversy surrounding him and his skill doesnt outperform that. Even by going to the jags i dont think they win more games with him than with who they have on their roster
Here’s the issue. All those teams besides the Jags have legitimate reasons for not signing him.
The Jets, they’re actively trying to tank. If they signed him, either they’d start winning a bit too much and it’d fuck up their plans, or they’d stay losing and you’d have a huge mob saying they’re trying to sabotage Kaep’s career by tanking with him on the roster.
The Bears and Browns have young QBs that they want to grow into the future. Now whether they’ll succeed or not is another matter entirely, but neither gain anything from signing him especially since both teams already have journeymen QBs to take the brunt of the issue for the young guns.
The Jags have none of these issues. They already have a bunch of talent so they can’t even tank if they wanted to. They also do not have a QB of the future they need to protect. They also have absolutely zero media presence. They honestly lose nothing from attempting to sign him.
Like what? The Chiefs aren’t gonna trade Alex Smith this year. So what, they do nothing this year, gain a meh draft pick and HOPE that Alex Smith sucked enough for Mahomes to take the reigns early?
