^has a point. however fubar, that mixup is really cool, and i’ve never seen it before. i guess ill just xcopy it.

You can block low during the “must stand-up” frame if they do a low move. But, if they do a high move during that frame, you can’t duck it. If that makes sense.

yeap, this is how meaty st. strong with urien hits all characters (even ones that can crouch it) during that 1 frame of wake-up, even if they are blocking low. if you pause the screen as they are getting up, you can see this “must stand up” frame…

How do you people feel about having Iori and Kyo on the same CVS2 team?

what’s a meaty? i’ve heard that term before and i saw it fubarduck’s post but i don’t know what it is.

A meaty attack is when you time an attack so that the active frames hit while your opponent is waking up from a knockdown (so the only thing they can do on wake up is something with invulnerability, such as a DP or super).

Oh wow, I didn’t know about the every character has to stand up for at least one frame after getting up thing. That must take insane timing to get land the meaty without losing to something stupid like throw mashers. I wish Mopreme had a chance to put that info into the 3S book actually (a lot of stuff missing actually… like Necro’s b+HP being unthrowable etc…).

I had a little trouble comboing d.LP into super after Nestor was telling me about it, but I’m going to try again right now. Thanks for the info. Another reason for me to hate Chun with a vengeance now.

It’s Good To See Gaymers In Full Force.

hahaha TOP TIER

Actually, you shouldn’t ever get thrown, the idea is that you distance yourself out of throw range for the meaty stand jab. You have to get far stand jab anyway, because close stand jab doesn’t chain into low jab. It’s not that hard with some practice

can you make a vid (or anyone who wants to :wgrin:) to illustrate how that looks like?

you dont have to make a vid, you can test it yourself really. just do meaty urien s.mp on a crouchblocking chun-li or ibuki and you can see it clearly. this explains why normally crouchable moves are uncrouchable meaty.

best team ever in N-groove, stop beasting

fubarduck- nice shit

what characters did ricky ortiz and justin wong use to qualify for cfj?

Holy crap, these are the numbers we’d like to see in Albuquerque on the 2D front. Can anyone PM me about getting people to travel to NM to run some 2D tournies like these? We have no problem getting 3D peeps to show, but there are some 2D fans that would like to play against some top players. We have a HUGE conference center for our venue, we can provide TV’s and some systems, but we’d need a few systems and games and some people with 2D experience to run the tourney. We have a couple that can do it, but can always use more help, but we need the numbers more than anything. Start making New Mexico a part of your annual tourney schedule and we’ll take care of y’all. Get back to me, anyone. The next one is scheduled for May 28th and we’d really like to see a lot of you there. Peace!!!

Only thing I can suggest is advertise to all regions and try and get as many community leaders to help you as possible. We’ve made friendships with top players from around the country and they’ve been frequent supporters and advertisers for our tournament for the past 5 years. Having a nice venue is a great start, now you have to make sure you have the equipment, and the intangibles to help draw in new comp. Believe me, it wasn’t easy getting to where we are now. Good luck with your event.

Actually I could’ve comeback with plenty of shit “BIG DAVE” but since he didn’t start shit I wasn’t going to either. Just continue being a nuthugger.
