Texas Republicans, the best state, the best party

depends on the type of felon. i think all drugs should be immediately legalized, and all drug dealers who didn’t commit armed robbery or violent crime to have felonies stricken from the record. other than that, anyone who has violently assaulted/murdered/raped another person should not vote, and i wouldn’t shed any tears if they got raped either. world would be a better place without people like that. however, again because the justice system is not perfect and innocent people go to jail all the time, all felons need to have rights, or else government gets too powerful. in other words im morally against stuff like due process for violent bad guys, but am for it for practical reasons.

Big bunnies?!..0_o…I’m moving to TX ^_^.

It’s like friggin’ Watership Down out in Lackland.

I don’t think ALL illegal drugs should be legalized. Living just a few miles from “methtown”, I’ve seen first hand how incredibly destructive that drug can be. Trust me, you don’t want that shit readily available to the general public.

Weed on the other hand…

O_o…k I’m packing my bags now.

i love how there is supposed to be a separation of church and state, and then they bring up God like 20 times in their platform…

Yeah this is where I’m split. I support full on decriminalization of weed and release of all non-violent weed offenders with the felonies stricken as fishjie had said. For the rest of the drugs I think they should be reviewed on a case by case basis as to their legalization, but even then I’d rather us shift from throwing people into prison to focusing on treatment for the extreme stuff like meth/heroin/PCP.

edit@Fishjie: Ok man. I’d just rather have you know that many people who go to jail/prison end up coming out much worse than they were before they went in. Since you seem to like praticality so much, I’d just rather have you know there’s a practical reason why you don’t just let anything happen to someone in confinement especially if they are to be released in the future.

Some of the bad drugs ARE bad. Meth, coke, heroin. These drugs are addictive, and should never be legal. Nobody really does mushrooms every day however, so I don’t really see a problem legalizing them. Weed being illegal is the biggest joke since prohibition.

Not without shit hitting the fan. It’s in the American DNA to aspire/want more all the time. We’ve been manufacturing horseshit degrees at break-neck pace for the last 30 years. People have monetized the American dream. College used to be an upper-class thing that’s trickled down to everyone else with waning economic benefit.

I don’t think everyone is cut out for higher education sadly. I do think that strengthening our public and grade school system would have a better impact on the overall economy. As well as vocational schools.

Its not so much horseshit degrees but that a lot of people think that manual labor = no need for thinking. I’m sorry but after having to deal with a bunch of shitty mechanics, we need some smart motherfuckers in that field.

So much hate on Texas.

I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY YOU CAN’T LOVE US!!!

wait, you are from texas?
more reasons to hate that place now :stuck_out_tongue:

WHY MUST EVERYONE HATE ME!!!

No, they all need to be legalized. And then a program like the one in Switzerland should be implemented (Heroin). what it essentially is that you go to hospitals and they administer the drugs. This also allows for more passive and active intervention

Legalizing drugs will only increase the number of mishaps occurring nationwide.

just wanted to add, things like shrooms should be legal with some supervision. like you must pay to be in an area to be watched by someone qualified to make sure you dont do something insanely stupid. i know most people wont, but that 1% spoils it for everyone.

and mdma has theraputic uses such as dealing with ptsd. that needs to be implemented NOW.

Yeah, because the War on Drugs has been a terrific success. :bluu:

@Senor Pedo: Wow I’ve never heard about that program, that’s really interesting, though I’m highly surprised they did that for Heroin yet 68% of voters were against decriminalizing Cannabis. :wtf:

fix’d

we have that here too, and people bitch and complain about it. Basically give heroin addicts a safe place to inject, so they’re at least using clean needles, and while injecting they can learn how to get off the junk.

oh sure because it will happen, with 100% certainty

yeah, i was taken back by it a bit. They are also the first in over 40+ years to restart the therapeutic use of LSD, and as expected, the US was trying real hard to block such actions.

It’s also has chemotherapeutic uses as well. I forget which University found out, but they wanted to persue this more but government said no

making drugs illegal doesn’t stop people from doing it and it just causes more problems than it solves (it solves nothing).

also if meth were legalized tomorrow, vast majority of people wouldn’t do it, because they’re not idiots. for the idiots that do do it, the money generated from taxes and also money saved from not overcrowding jails can be used to get them help.
