I havent seriously practiced any this week in SF…been watching my nephews from out of town…hard to do anything with them around.

and I have noticed lately for a person that is so ASS at the game, i sure watch a lot of Marvel matches…
I traded that game in dodges random shoe thrown at me and I been wanting it back ever since I did it.
Nothing wrong with playing multiple games, and nothing wrong with wanting to get better at the game, whatever it might be. In fact, watching vids I think is the first step to starting to understand the game.

3 new players moved to Nashville from Birmingham; sent them this way for games this week…Cali guys are in town until next Sunday…
and thats what’s starting to happen, I’m beginning to understand Marvel…and I “get it” when I watch hi level play and whatnot… I got discouraged when the game first dropped,cause my execution was so bad…and I practiced ALOT with my team. but I’ve turned (somewhat) of a corner w SF w my execution, so I kinda want another crack at Marvel. being broke sucks tho…
Forgot to tell you guys, I get off work at 4 every week day and GG is on my way home. I won’t have money to come by every day, but if you guys give me a heads up a day in advance, I can plan to come by afterward.
Now, take my opinion with a grain of salt, because I am by no means a good Marvel player, but i think your enjoyment of Marvel will greatly be determined by your team selection.
If you have a strong tem that works well together, I think you will enjoy and do better faster with Marvel. If for some reason you are like me and play low-tier characters with limited synergy, you may find it more frustrating. But don’t forget that it’s Marvel, and you can tweak almost any team so as to come up with broken unfair bullshit. lol.

Played with the Dutch SF scene yesterday. Their numbers are fewer but many are equivalent to the top-most TN players. Except for one guy. MBR is an Akuma player and he alone is better than the TN scene.
Characters used: Guy, Gen, Dhalsim(not me), Zangief, Akuma, Yang, Makoto, Fei Long, Viper, Guile, Bison, Oni, Abel, Balrog, Rose, Sakura
Top character mains are in order: Akuma, Yang, Guy
The get-together lasted from 1pm until past when I had to leave (9pm). The games played were: SSF4:AE, MvC3, MK, BB, T6, and ST.
Apparently the guy who hosted is ST famous for his Blanka (Fulani aka Kareem).
I went head to head with everyone except for MBR.
Unfortunately they do best 2/3 and then you rotate. So, I wasn’t actually able to learn anything at all or even really get warmed up. I’m going to lobby for a better method of rotation in the future.
I think I hit Dhalsim’s BnB once.

Well that’s cool, dude. Are they close by, or is the whole scene pretty spread out?
Also, how was their Mak?
As far as i can tell they’re spread out. A few of the guys took train for 2 hours one-way to get there.
The Makoto player was a Balrog player. He’s in the process of switching characters. He plays Yang pretty well but he loves how explosive Mak can be. He’s a well-rounded player. Think Eugene but focused and sane. But, he doesn’t have nearly the knowledge or rush-down that you do. Character knowledge aside he has good fundamentals.
Oh and nobody seems to say shit like ‘salty’. And all of the fighting game terms are english.
Can I move there too?

Welp, I can give some tips.
Pokes:

His far standing medium kick is a really good normal. Good range. Good footsie move. 7 frame startup. But recovery is not so good. So be wary against Focus Attacks. You cannot cancel into any special with this move though. His close standing medium kick, different story. I’ll get more into this move in the counter hit section.

His far standing medium punch is a decent poke too. Can cancel into LP hozanto for a good frame trap if they throw out a normal. However there is enough of a gap in between the mp and lp hozanto for someone to mash a DP move like shoryu, so I usually cancel into bushin flip elbow drop since this move will beat out non EX reversals. Be wary of range when doing his target combo mp-hp. If they are too far the HP will whiff. His close standing medium punch leaves him +1 on block.

Crouching mk. Good move to beat focus bait. Good move to throw out on someone’s wakeup. Works good against Rufus’s EX wakeup options (if timed right). Leave’s you even on block so you are safe.
Anti airs:
Crouching MP against normal jump ins, crouching MK against crossups. Standing roundhouse/standing fierce if jump in is far away.
crouch tech counter hit setups:

Cr.lp --> cr. fierce, st.mp into EX hozanto or into Run-slide. Easy hit confirm. If they block the cr. fierce you are still at +3 so you can throw out a mp into whatever (lp hozanto, bushin flip elbow drop, Run stop.
