I’m fine with “its business”. But that goes against pretty much everything they said when they were talking about and releasing AE. Like I said if you want a mash up of the best versions or all versions of chars add vanilla options back in too. Lets see who is worse OG Sagat or AE Yun. Or when you say you are trying to re-balance a game and you actually make smart changes and stick with them. I mean some of the changes being made were brain dead (Adon wake up timing adjusted to normal, TCKS dive kicks taken out)
And I have seen the “people have lost interest in AE because its diff or whatever” argument a few times in the last few pages. Is there any weight to this or is it just rambling. I mean people had no interest in Vanilla because short cuts and ultras ruined the game. Super was meh because they didnt add (insert char here) AE is whack because balance is all fucked up. Yet SFIV is getting a ton of play with usually higer turnouts than any other game at tourneys
its because more people play it. SF4 got a ton of exposure, and added tons of people to the brackets, but honestly the interest is starting to dwindle off. Hell, I can count on one hand the amount of people that go to the arcade regular to play AE now, but I can write a list of people that went to MVC3.

DJ Ramsey from Louisville, KY is coming and he is the best MVC3 player i’ve played yet. Hope that some of you guys can come give him a run for his money because he is going to own everyone from BG, including myself for free.
Some of the SF4 players from Louisville are coming too. A vega player that got 2nd and the last tourney will be there This is going to be a preparation for power-up for most people, so competition should be pretty good.
Man w/e they do to AE, doesn’t matter because…we will all play it! But I think there is a bigger issue here…

This is beyond a profound sadness. I mean Eraser aka The Problem played the game about 2 hours at launch. Or Am I giving him to much credit about how time he has spent with the game? Where as Duckie has spent what he has claimed “600+ matches” with the game…and he still loses!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! A true slaw! You losing to eraser is beyond a tragedy, its a catastrophe!!

Just curious: outside of here do you guys talk about fighting games?
People have been giving me some serious shit about playing them recently. Like, when somebody sees me handing out a flyer or watching a matchup video on YouTube or whatever they kind of scoff at me.
Is it like that for anybody else too? Or do you just keep your FG hobby a secret?
I tell everyone I play fighting games, but around where I live, everyone thinks they are the best in their house, or best on their block or whatever. So I get faced with 2 possible outcomes:
I demolish them and they don’t want to play anymore.
I let them win a few and then have to listen to herp derp bullshit about me sucking.
I only play people around here for money now. They always back down. I hate these people.
Fuck that if they dont get it the issue is with them not you. I agree with Shawn I dont try to hide any of my weirdness or hobbies. I mean hell usually our fight night after parties get loud at bars or whatever and we talk about FGs or why Rukus will never agin MM Squab in double dribble and shit.
Game is coming out near the end of June (SFAE update wtf they are doing, etc)
iQuick: Honestly, I don’t care what anybody thinks about anything, I mean, the problem is people think it’s “cool” to do whatever peer pressure stuff they get into (FPS games, getting trashed, talking shit about wtf, drugs, etc) The thing is, what do THESE people do for fun? What makes what they play any better/worse? I mean, I don’t give Linuka and SDouble shit for playing Magic cards competitively. I give them shit for changing their mind all the time, but to each his own, if people make fun of you for playing fighting games or give you shit, what is “normal” to them? Going to the bar and playing pool? (LOL, man I love the South and the military bases) Of course, I am making a very big generalization here but everyone is into their own thing so I don’t see why one person can look at something else and think it’s indifferent towards their ideals.
I think the biggest thing that threatens people out here when their “manhood” is questioned based on what they like to do for leisure or how they aren’t even a part of the “norm” according to what they think the “norm” is.
I can’t wait until MK takes off. We will have our dedicated group playing, and I can’t wait to build up fellowship with new players. It’s going to be great. I haven’t been this hype about a video game since Gears of War 1. I highly encourage any of our local guys wanting to jump into it to come down to Game Galaxy for the weekly fright night gatherings and play.
This game is going to get played here no matter what.
It’s the South. For some reason there are a lot of uninformed uneducated people that live in the stone age out here. That’s why we still have this stigma out here and a bunch of “best on the block” shittalkers that have chips on their shoulders for everything from objectifying women and being “good 'ol boy” sexists to “ooga booga shoot ma guns imma real man” type of persona.
For every sane/educated/independent minded person I meet out here there are 3 more than fit the generalization above.
Fixed. I used to think it was bad in Richmond VA but its so much worse here. Wearing ignorance and stupidity like a badge of honor is something that needs to go here as well.
