Also, is that $25 supposed to be a weekly thing? That’s mighty steep for what is essentially a ranbat season. And uh, “tax paperwork”? I’m not sure what you mean by this.
Also as already mentioned, attendance is a major issue. We are not seeing Hastings-level numbers any more. There have been a lot of changes between now and then. Many of the regulars are busy with work and other matters.
For these things to be successful, you need a regular turnout that can support it.
Also, I don’t recall you ever paying up and actually playing at fight nights at MMA, not since maybe the Powerplay days. Feel free to correct me on this if I am mistaken.
The “tax paperwork” is done by the venue for all of their cash events, Magic or otherwise. I have no call with this. I actually shot a message to Alex Valle’s fb page to get info on what he does for SCR and all the events he runs. As far as the weekly runbats it was just a figure i posted off the top of my head and can be talked down to for the event itself going from a weekly payment to a one shot payment.
Any further ideas? Ill be up at the Magic Arena in about a hour if you care to join in and pitch ideas.
Season two was based on ELO, correct. But we changed all that for Season 3, but we had ridiculous drop in attendance so we never got to fully utilize it. It was based on brackets and number of entries for points and it seemed to work out great.
I have ofically let you know! There will be a official post about the event when my computer get dont shitting on me! Dont feel like making a huge post off of my IPod…

Attendance is gonna be an issue nowadays no matter how you cut it. It’s hard for most ppl to even commit to something like this when A: life and work are a constant issue for most. B: nothing is being taken even remotely serious outside of a casual level right now and C: see A and B
I think it may work for tekken since its the only game right now that has the most players that play regularly here in memphis, but thats a maybe. Sf nobody plays so it will have less than 8 entrants here and there and most of those entrants cant make it out every week. Marvel would be a waste of time since it would just be me zay and woot on the top 3 every week. Johnny works evenings so its rare he can come out. Josh has been mia for a while due to work, dax has school but he’ll play just for the hell of it, james sucks and rukus is going to be mia for 3 months. So that leaves like only 4 MAYBE 5 entrants for marvel, no one is gonna put up money for that. And sfxt will have 1 entrant so thats not even worth addressing.

So i can see those things being an issue for that imo

Jas… I may suck at some of the matches but you can’t say that I don’t ever give you a run for your money. Just some nights I be so off that I can’t think straight.
So when are we all gonna start making plans for Final Round? Apparently the hotel rooms are going quick. I wouldn’t mind driving as long as I get gas money (and I drive a civic so it’s not exactly the most luxurious lol). I also know a couple people that have never been to a tourney/major that might want to go.
Just when i think I can start coming regularly to fight nights…last week and this week sees me working tuesdays. So hopefully by next week I’ll be hitting game galaxy again.
