By the way, while I was there, it sounds like Twitch from Greater Memphis Magic Arena is trying to put together a fighting game event. What the details of the event are so far, I don’t know, but I think KJ would be more privy to them. So show your support and let’s help make this thing happen!
What are your thoughts about a monthly league with cash payouts at the end of each month? With a point structure going to top 4. Was tossing around ideas for Marvel, AE, and TTT2.
Or you can get them straight from the man himself apparently. Anyway, how about a team-based league or tournament? Can TTT2 do 2v2 matches like SFxT can, or would the latter be the only qualifier? I’ve yet to play TTT2, so this is an honest question.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2
Weekly Buy In: $20+5 (Venue Fee)
(First 5 People That Brings Set Ups Wave The Venue Fee!)
Point Structure
Enter The Event: 1 Point
Top 4
1st: 10 Points
2nd: 5 Points
3rd: 3 Points
4th: 2 Points
Prize Pay Outs Based On Points End Of The Month:
1st: 60%
2nd: 20%
3rd and 4th 10%
The venue itself WILL NOT BE GIVING OUT ANY BONUSES FOR THIS EVENT, and the cash payouts will be payed based on turning required tax paperwork.
The payouts will solely be depending on the local FGC, so NUT UP AND SHOW UP!! 
Please note, that this is also my first deep involvement within the FGC, so any help would be nice!

Sorry I have been a ghost for awhile (as is most of Middle TN these days)
We will be officially announcing MWC’s 20th Anniversary tournament after the milln Game Galaxy Guilty Gear and Persona fest this Saturday.
It’s going to be a 2 day event, milln will be running his tournaments on Sunday, Ian will be running Tekken Tag 2 on Saturday, and I will be running whatever is left on Saturday.
The tournaments in some format will contain at LEAST:
SFAE
UMVC3
TTT2
- whatever milln runs which I am assuming is GG/Persona/KOF madness
We “may” run an Injustice tournament. Depends on if people are playing it.
We WILL have a mystery tournament.
There WILL be extra cash to 1st in EACH of the tournaments…assuming $100-500 each or so
Cover is going to be $20 (includes free play on all the arcade and pinball games) and each tournament will be $10.
It’s going to be JUne 21-22 (Sat/Sun) but expect an official schedule by this Sunday and it will be held at Game Galaxy in Antioch, TN
Oh, and Game Galaxy is opening a 3rd location in Chattanooga at Northgate Mall. Will have 2 ASUS setups and 360s there for Chattanooga’s Fight Nights…$6 cover will include play on all the pinball and arcade games as well.
Ill be up at the shop all day tommrow/today/this thursday and im always up for new ideas i think for teams we can do a side event after leagues sence im wanting to focus the leagues themselves in 1v1. until we get the numbers settled and get the ball rolling.
if everything goes according to plan maybe there will be a season 2? lol

I use to run a bunch of the league stuff here in Memphis for fight night and the biggest problem we had the 3rd time through was attendance. But if you need any ideas or help with anything, feel free to ask.
I even have a point system set up that calculates points/ranks through a website. (www.memphisranbats.com) The problem was we never made it to the new system which seemed pretty solid, again due to attendance.

Well, last night wasn’t a great turnout either. Woot and I left at 7:30, I think the other guys arrived at 8 or so. Last week was a decent turnout tho, so I’m assuming peeps are just busy or prepping for today.
Seems good, but I’m trying to see if it’s the idea of no guaranteed pot or the lack there of any at all, is the reason why people didn’t show up…I’m trying to work on that as we speek. I love the layout for the site and all, but I HATE the ELO ratiing system which it looks like the rating is based on. I was so used to it until Magic: The Gathering uses the “Planeswalker Point System” which does not use the ELO system. Instead it incites players to play in more events by not loosing points when playing.
well I havent been there because of working weds nights but starting next week I should be free again on weds nights
Attendance is gonna be an issue nowadays no matter how you cut it. It’s hard for most ppl to even commit to something like this when A: life and work are a constant issue for most. B: nothing is being taken even remotely serious outside of a casual level right now and C: see A and B
I think it may work for tekken since its the only game right now that has the most players that play regularly here in memphis, but thats a maybe. Sf nobody plays so it will have less than 8 entrants here and there and most of those entrants cant make it out every week. Marvel would be a waste of time since it would just be me zay and woot on the top 3 every week. Johnny works evenings so its rare he can come out. Josh has been mia for a while due to work, dax has school but he’ll play just for the hell of it, james sucks and rukus is going to be mia for 3 months. So that leaves like only 4 MAYBE 5 entrants for marvel, no one is gonna put up money for that. And sfxt will have 1 entrant so thats not even worth addressing.
So i can see those things being an issue for that imo
Darkstalkers Resurrection comes out Mar. 12 for PSN and Mar. 13 for XBLA. Nuff said.
I’m off today, and my girl has to work tonight so we’re doing something in a little bit. But if anybody wants to game this evening, hit me up.
