Cale, I think ours are going on (Memphis vs Nashville) at SBO Quals Jul 24…these should not be confused with Gdbell’s money matches against his own city he wants sometime in August. Hype won’t be there two months from now. Hype is NOW and leading up to the event.
I’m…quite sorry? I just assumed all the best of nashville was at the powerplay tournament/Mtac tournament. I’ll have to make a trip out there on another date if you have something before the SBO qualifiers. I just got into the tournament scene for FR this year, I never kept tabs on my local scene untill then. I hope you all can kick my ass so I can get better :D.
PS: Patrick is one of my favorite players to play from nashville if its the same Patrick I’m thinking about, (boomcube?)
He hasn’t played Josh either as far as I know (and apparently Josh is on the Nashville team because he plays at GG). :bgrin:

We did play online, I was telling my friend that you might confuse this person with Justin Wong, and then I fouind out he was that YOUNG. I was so, surprised, he’s very good. I admire your ability to encourage him, he has ALOT of potential as a future pro gamer :D. If only all mothers were like you.
Why are you even talking about the Memphis scene if you are not even here to see people play?
From what I remember, the last four winners at Hastings are in this order:
Woot
Cylus
Jan
Woot
Lycan, Sev, Cylus and Woot are the only ones who can compete? Who have you played?
The first one I listed that Woot played in was the only one I was able to play in. I lost in the first round to Gene and had to fight all the way back to fight Woot in the Grand Finals which includes Lycan and Sev two of the only relevant SF players in Memphis in your mind. We have a load of talent here and I don’t want someone who only wants to MM people who thinks he can beat to try and evaluate talent he has never seen.
As for the Majin comment, he’s just a talented player. I’m a playing calling guru at football games but I HATE MADDEN SO DAMN MUCH. I’ll lose to people who really know the ins and outs of that version of the game, but I’ll beat damn near anyone who doesn’t play fairly often without ever playing the game beforehand. Besides, he took second in Nashville not long ago in GG and lost to Shawn. That’s not gonna make me say Nashville sucks. Majin is a good player. That’s it. You don’t have to like a game to be good at it.
No one else from Memphis said it, and maybe they didn’t feel this way, but that was a major diss. Don’t try to call out what you consider weaker opponents and then hide behind the strength of other players in your city. That’s lame man.

Your Honda really is top tier, i think everyone in Memphis can compete, Street Fighter is a game of many diversified matchups, and I would have to say that if a tournament bracket went your way, you could easily win.
Shhhh, don’t say that. I still don’t even have a main. I played with like six characters that day. It wasn’t a counter picking thing but I just never got in a groove with anyone and I almost never practice so it was like who feels good that day. :looney:
What made the match more difficult for you was fundamental stuff like how I wouldn’t let you charge on wake up because I kept switching sides every so often. Or FA’ing the non EX Devil Reverse. Since I use Bison a little I knew some of those things so it was like a mind game if what could I take away from you. What killed me was ur damn cr.lk links.
I want my rematch still!

There is some pretty good comp here and a nice scene aswell…We almost, always, hang out at Hastings on cordova every wednesday night!!
If for some reason you can’t make those gatherings, there are others on the weekends. Check on these forums often to see what’s going on. Dictators are always welcomed!!
Just for future reference anime convention tourneys are not majors. I’ve got nothing but love for everybody that participated in MTAC’s tourney but honestly taking a leak at GG is more major than MTAC.

Oh, damn, I knew I was forgetting something. GGs Hiryu and Phil Shin Injun, for sure. That Abel was beastly Hiryu, I’ve never been tossed around that bad before. I gave Abel a shot back when vanilla first dropped, never really stuck for some reason. I always expect to get worked over by Phil, but we got some unexpectedly good practice in afterwards. (no homo)
Thanks I appreciate that Woot! I support Josh 100%. I think he is AWESOME, but hey I am Mom so I don’t count. 
By the way there will be a live feed in Cleveland this weekend if anyone gets a chance to watch. I am sure they will post it on SRK but I will post a link when they post one on their thread just in case. You guys can root Josh on from TN. Apparently his teammate who is from NJ but lives in Philly has named their team “Team Midwest Is Free”. Josh had NOTHING to do with that at all! LOL! :shake:
Oh goodness we may make enemies in OH!! Thank God no one knows who he is. We asked the tournament organizer to not really say anything about Josh coming. He just wanted to come and play and no one know who he was or make a big deal about him being there or about him being so young or that he is good, etc. Of course they will figure it out pretty quickly but they won’t have time to prepare by that point. :arazz:

Goddamn I love stick modding. I’m starting to hate SF (like I didn’t already), but it brings in the mods so I’ll keep playing and meeting people at tournaments so I can take care of them from the hardware side. Just finished a TE-S for Pwnag3 and had some casuals with him tonight. Good times, and money in my pocket. Nice to finally make some money off this game. 
Playing today made me realize that I need to play more Gief, I feel worse than I was with him.
If you actually bring the game, I will play you for $5 – FT3 or 5? That would be so epic!
