I just meant that I defended the game as being able to be played “seriously” that its mechanics were not “broken” or too crazy. I mean for like 3 weeks after release we were trying to get anyone to play it and every fight night was like an argument at the Fox. Me, Cylus and one or two more vs Jas, Abe, Eraser. We are trying to get them to understand the game isn’t crap. It turned out they were basically right (XFC is dumb in its current form, char balance is laughable, random hits aren’t a big deal) Hell I even defended the game on here but I was wrong. The game is a mess and for that reason I say it trolled me

The DHC glitch is really the only thing that makes that game as dumb as it is IMO. Oh and Dark Phoenix lol. X-Factor is indeed dumb but I don’t complain about that since everyone can use it. As far as The Memphis scene goes, everyone should still play it since we don’t rely heavily on the DHC trick here, NOBODY uses Phoenix(unless you really want to count me), and defense beats X-Factor. NOBODY here plays a team that is not viable. Not even Abe. If I can play Thor, She-Hulk, Cap, and beat Jas’ Doom, Mag, Sent team then what are you guys excuses that play with “better” teams? Oh and please don’t say “Well all you need is She-Hulk.” because she gets zoned out pretty badly against Doom, Mag, Sent.
Come on guys. Can we stop it with this “random hit” nonsense? It you got hit, you weren’t blocking correctly or pressed a button. Stop blaming the game for your personal problems. If I can sit there and block all of your offense until I get an opening then so can you. Im playing the same game as you are. Also this “My assist gets hit so I get hit too!” nonsense. The same thing applies. BLOCK!!! How can I call an assist at a bad time and still be able to block while my assist is getting combo’d? Come one guys. Some of the stuff you guys complain about is so scrubby and can easily be remedied without dropping the game completely.
@Sev - Please stick with UMvC3. You were one of the better players here in Vanilla and all of your characters are better now.
Oh ima give Ultimate a legit shot its already pre-ordered. And as you said many of the chars I like/play didnt get hit with the nerf bat which is really cool. Maybe if I am really lucky Iron Fist will be good too.
DHC glitch is very dumb but dmg in this game is WAY too high in general. I am a shitty Viper player, I cant do all the advanced shit but towards the end of my playing the game for real if I laded a L on a char they died from pretty much anywhere on screen. Mags can do it easier than she can and I have seen Combofiend do it too with She/Task/Spencer. You can do it with most of the cast.
So this leads to the “random hit thing”. I agree if you did something really dumb and got blasted thats on you. But you dont even have to make “terrible decisions” we have all seen the hit boxes BS for this game and seen the priority on some chars normals. The dmg in this game turns any decision into a life or death for the most part. If I try and jab or pressure some chars at what should be “correct” times (like after blocking their S) if their jab hits me I am done. I mean we have all seen the priorty on Wesker/Mags s jabs that lead into death or any poke done by Zero/Dante. All of these buttons basically = death. Thats just too much.
To add to your list of really bad stuff in Marvel.
-OptionSelect H and reg grab. This to me is far worse than DHC glitch. Several chars have an amazing H as well as the ability to kill off grabs making this beyond stupid.
-Meter building is beyond insane in this game. Most chars can build more bar than they need to execute combos that kill with ease. So not only do they get to kill your char they have bar to use on the mix up on the incomming char
-Being able to move before FIGHT: This is worse than in other games because of the easy OS H/Grab. I mean the round has not begun yet and the person your facing is putting you in a 50/50 or a pressure trap that will kill you GTFO

Yeah, DHC glitch and certain characters with lv3 xf are the only real annoying things about MvC3. Hell, most characters with lv3 xf can’t make a comeback (but still do because people play stupid). Holding up-back in the corner is the key.

All of these sound more like personal gripes then actually problems. Although, I COMPLETELY AGREE with damage being too high but that’s a gripe as well. Everyone can exploit the damage output in some sort of way. The grab 50/50 is a gripe as well since your opponent has to guess as well.
Being put in a 50/50 before the match starts is ridiculous. Its char specific on which ones can do this and for most of the ones that can there is little to no risk. They apply 50/50 if you guess right you get out and then can start the match as normal. If you guess wrong you loose at least 1 char possibly more. From a mechanics standpoint thats just silly. Your loosing the match before it starts.
I mean anything we dont like about the game can be labeled a “gripe” including XFC lvl 3 and Dark Phx cause I mean you get the option of using those things in the game as well. That doesn’t change that its blatantly bad design.
But either way I know where you are coming from as well. I just cant get over those things to play Vanilla seriously but as I said I will be on Ultimate when it drops.
Also random but wait till you see this stupid tech Squab found for Cody and we tested today. Your gonna like this shit. Plus it really helps in the Able match as well and I know you said you didn’t like that match either.

I agree and disagree with bisbops posts on the whole mvc3. But we’ll leave it at that. Too many issues with mvc3 that makes it hard to take the game serious. The game gets wayyy too random at times whether its casuals or high level play. Even more so than mvc2 was and even that game got really random at times. Hopefully umvc3 will finally correct that but its still yet to be really seen till the game has been out for a few.months.
Mvc3 is hella fun I can agree with that and to an extent u do have control of your matches if u play smart but like I said to an extent. The games high damage,high meter building,hit boxes the size of japan,easy juggles and combos and not to mention high priority throws really makes the game random a lot of times because even when u do things right u can still possibly eat something stupid and die from it by a scrub player and god forbid u get hit by a top player that can mean the end of the match.
Why you think top eight is always so random at majors? Its like u never know whos gonna win the tourney cause the game is so random so often because of reasons already discussed that u never have the same player place top 3 in majors even tho he’s considered one of the best players by the majority of the community.(example,wong,combofiend,chrisg,etc.)
Its like the game says u are not allowed to make any mistakes at all and u are forced to play one certain way or else u die. Its like wtf??? Oh ok im sorry I can do the same to my opponent. whats the fun in that? So I can do a simple combo and kill someone as opposed to being creative and come up with nice set ups and mix ups to kill my opponents or mind fuck them thus setting me and my team appart from the rest of the players who all do the same shit over and over again because its all it takes,because if u drop whatever it is you are doing youre basically fucked! Not to mention a lot of mix ups and set ups are easy to counter and kill for it,not all but most. To me that gets old really quick. We’ll see tho there’s still a glimmer of hope for umvc3,tiny but its there.
LOL about Capcom Fighting Evolution…the only “bs” about that game was it was “boring” and Jedah raped everyone even with no stamina…it’s still “proper” Street Fighter, just very few people played it. Heck, we have an arcade version of it in storage, LOL
