I agree… The most recent few Batman games just have this overwhelming ‘whoring’ feel to them.
I feel this way about the entire gaming industry in general. Very few games feel truly “complete” when you 1st play them anymore.
The games that you already KNOW are going to be good aren’t that way though. Dark Souls, Disgaea 4, Catharine, Skyrim, etc.

I think you misunderstand. I’m not saying that any of these games aren’t going to have DLC. I’m just saying that they’re great games in their own right and nobody feels ripped off by horse armor. I mean, you buy horse armor what are you expecting? You know that you’re not buying the 33% of the game that they didn’t add to the disc. It’s fucking horse armor. It’s like DLC gamer pictures. You know exactly what you’re getting. Nobody knows WHY you’re actually paying for it, but it’s not a rip off that they didn’t add it in the game.
Also, I’ve seriously found that the Arkham whatever series is crazy overrated. It’s a game. The mechanics work… weee. I guess the lack of desire to roll-play a furry is what makes me see the game in a different light. It’s just an OK game. It’s not like a modern 7 or anything. It’s more of an old-school 7.

Mojang is the company that made Minecraft and Notch is one of their main developers. They were making a new game called Scrolls that has its gameplay centered around scrolls (surprising I know). Bethesda sued them for trademarking the name “Scrolls” saying it conflicted with their trademark “The Elder Scrolls.” Retarded, I know. Notch basically was like “really?” He jokingly challenged them to a Quake 3 Team Deathmatch for the right to keep the name. Anyways, Bethesda went through with the lawsuit and so Notch won the first round though Bethesda may appeal.
This is short version of how proceedings went:
ZeniMax/Bethesda: Gamers will be confused by the two games and their similar names!
Mojang: No they won’t, they are gamers…
ZeniMax/Bethesda: But but but but but scrolls! SCROLLS!
Mojang: There are other games with that name too.
Court: Gonna have to side with Mojang on this one.

All this even after Notch offered to DROP the name or change it for Bethesda, however, there are some other circumstances that may have prompted Bethesda to go ahead and sue. But that’s another long story.
@Shawn: I think people are all on the Arkham games because 1: Its an actual decent game with Batman in it and 2: The game actually makes you feel kind of like Batman rather than just I am playing a side scroller and my avatar in game looks like the bat. I agree though the games are basically a 7-7.5 but are made for fans of the char. DLC/pre-order bonuses as a whole are becoming mostly bullshit there are a ton of examples. Thats one thing I liked about Dark Souls I just took it home put it in, let the sys update go and bam I was playing a full game.
Also I dont know when the mentality of review scores changed, like in your example but thats a bad thing too. I mean if only 8,9,10 are “good” scores why is there a 10 point system? Might as well just have a 5 point system and be done with it. There is nothing wrong with playing a game thats a 7 hell Dark Souls is a 7 at best but still a game I think just about everyone should at least try.
I would be hesitant to rate Dark Souls without context. If you’re rating on accessibility, it gets a pretty low score. If you’re rating it on staying true to a creative vision, then it’s extremely successful. If you rate it on not having buggy collisions and serious framerate issues, it gets a 0. If you rate it on its capacity for a gamer to really have a temporary lifestyle altering experience, it’s a solid 9.
Anyone that cares about playing SSF4AE v2012 slightly early, I have to send both board sets off to Japan and they will get sent to Sophia, and back to me so I would assume they will arrive around December 5 if all goes well with sending these to Capcom to get updated and all. Sophia is letting me know when I have to send the PCBs over but of course it’s going to be an arm and a leg to ship, lol
