Tennessee Thread - How Do You Eat a Fart?

So how about them dark souls?

Dude! OMG…remember how I use to get on all the UoM “new players” that use to “know everything” during the GG days and couldn’t do a basic combo?! And the infamous “Get use to losing” post? Oh God. I would get banned in this forum.

Toilet Seat Stage lmao!!

Noo!! Oh noooo!!! NOOOO!! ROFL!!! You going to hell bro! God gone get you for this!! LMAO!!!

Watch this if you like free money in Dark Souls, do not watch if you hate easy rides.

So, on a related note, how did you guys get the UofM players to come out to FF?

I ask because one would think, ok, we have a fairly large group here, but really almost no players from the UofM? I’ve always wondered why we didn’t get more guys from that area to fight nights or tourneys or whatever.

I even remember Gabe’s buddy the champ or whatever who again never came out to anything. What made UofM players go to FF but not to the current fight nights or tournaments?

Or was it simply because most of the FF crew were going to college at the time and so pulling people because they themselves were students?

@Storyteller, yeah that’s kinda old news now. Just don’t try it if you are human, you will get invaded so fast. I’ve been using that to boost my stats so I could use diff weapons etc, still trying to settle on a weapon type. Oh, and trust me, boosted stats or not, DS still ain’t no easy ride.

Pshh. I remember you and niggas telling people that certain games weren’t for them and NOT GIVING THEM THE CONTROLLER. You punk motherfuckers wouldn’t even let me play SCIV after I was gone awol for that little minute and then started back coming around after SCIV had settled in a bit and told y’all I played with Rock. You slaw bitches wouldn’t even let me get a turn!

Dudes here better chill. It used to be certain setups that certain people couldn’t play on. Dudes walk in the door and everyone point to the “lil tv”. “Get yo ass to the lil tv!” With the setup with the third party controllers. LMAO! Smh…

So two questions, how should i be fighting knights and how the fuck do you fight the dudes with the big ass dick hammers.

Which knights? Black Knights? Undead Knights in the Church?

What area are you in? You fighting Havel?

This was years ago. All of those guys have either moved(most of them actually) or don’t play fighting games like that anymore. The death of FF and Guilty Gear really hurt our scene. I love how the scene has developed now but the scene was a lot bigger and everyone knew EVERYONE back then. There would probably be no Rukus, FlyMike, or even ShinBlade if it wasn’t for Lil Majin and myself. We recruited and introduced A LOT of guys into the scene back then. They can all tell you how we met and what it was like.

That’s because you suck at the game … wink … stop following the guide and just play it, trust me, it’s waayyyy more fun …

If I can make it … I already had shit planned for today, but I’m pretty sure I can make it … Also, are you hosting till midnight, or until “whenever” ?

I went to the U of M. I stayed in Towers. We had hella sessions over there. Used to haul TVs around that campus. Clicked back up with Rell, Big Majin, and Jio who were the first people I had met locally on serious gaming years prior. Then met Bishop, Marcus, Lil Mel, others cuz they had already started up the Gear train. I was cool with all the RAs and got them to let me use the lounges for games and tourneys. We had hella passerbys and athletes stopping through. People saying they didn’t know I played this or that, and 6’8 290 motherfuckers that I didn’t know know could throw a hadouken, let alone play basic Alpha 3. Rukus was the nigga who made it cool to play fighting games in the Tiger Den. I worked in the arcade we had up there too. So I tried to convert peeps. It also helped that the scene back then wasn’t made completely up of the “types of people” that everyone thought only played fgs so we were able to pull more players and people who thought they were they only ones who played or dabbled in fgs. Everyone didn’t stick around, and some people we only saw once, but still, it was cool.

Anyway, most of the dudes that we “recruited” who were semi-committed played GG because that was the main game we were focused on then. Even had factions and shit. But by dudes being in school and whatnot, a lot of them weren’t from here and moved back home but if I called them or hit them on Facebook and told them to look at the “shittalk” in this thread and compare it to what they received or getting locked out of dorm rooms for doing dumb shit on wakeup then they’d laugh and just shake their head.

Another thing back then was, if you met a random who knew about fgs or how to play them a bit, and they didn’t go to the arcades, everyone had "A friend who played in Japan. Play all the Japanese shit. Win money playing it too. Can’t none of y’all beat him. He know all the moves and how to put em together. He know your moves too." LMAO!

that’s because nashville is full of the illest mother fuckers in cardigan sweaters, leave the drama at home, bitches

Saw one at the undead burg and one in the slums. They were really tall and had a sword and shield

Oh I’m actually doing some exploring, I finally ended up in that area you were talking about in fucktown. Just saying that regardless of your stats all it takes is one bad pull or taking shit on autopilot for the game to fuck you over. Lost 12k and 4 humanity to the fucking dogs in Blighttown just because I had no idea they could breathe fire lol.

Just lock-on … get somewhat close … and just walk to the right around him … when he swings, you should be able to get his back - BACKSTAB … repeat …

Try 9k and 6 humanity to the gargoyles … don’t wanna hear it … but yeah, I had the dragon shield equipped in blighttown so I just block that shit …

With Honor

Throw nails at them

Ok, Black Knights then.

Depending on your char of sourse, but this is my strat. I try to clear a wide area if at all possible to fight them at. Then I make the pull, run back to the cleared area and start circle strafing right. I wait for them to finish their combo, then backstab. This depends on having enough stamina to not get guard broken, or being fast on the roll. Don’t roll during the start of the combo because they will finish the combo and track you.

Squabb also does the plunging attacks on them if there is somewhere he can drop off. I’m melee, so I go for backstabs and blocking.

I know Sev just fries their ass. I suggest just learning the attack patterns they use and working from there.

The funny thing is, the people that were serious about getting better got better and the people that just wanted to press buttons and make friends kept it movin. Things were harsh but it made you tough. The only complaints were with how badly you were in comparison to the next guy and that kept you motivated to improve since you were constantly reminded. Thinking back now, all of the guys that stuck around became close friends and like family. Rukus, Lil Majin, Big Majin, ShinBlade, FlyMike, GeneralGear, Bigboifed(Ernie), AzurePhoenix(Lil Melvin), Zol Dio, Cortez, and Tommy are all considered fam in my book. We all traveled and gamed together for the entire span of GGXXS and GGXXAC. Good times indeed.

In fairness, it was them plus a bad pull. I knew the mobs were there, but I rtied to engage three at once because I was in a hurry and just got overwhelmed. Have the Wolf ring now though, so once my swing begins, aint nothing gonna stop that axe coming down.

Yeah I got that too … and a few other rings that I found, including the one behind the blue drakes …
